If we played with a similar attacking intensity and motivation as we did today more often, I don't think Van Gaal would have too many problems with us. Could just be that everton are shit but far too often even against shit teams, there is no motivation in the players to go and score goals and make chances. Today was hugely different. The best managers can get their teams motivated every game and that could be (one of) lvgs issues into why our performances are often flat. Maybe they just dont feel motivated enough unless its a big game, or lvg can't get them up for it. Or he isnt up for other games himself. But its a big difference nonetheless.

I agree with that. Thought the Herrera sub was a good one. But he should have adjusted much earlier when Everton was storming us. Carrick was fading badly when their mids started pressing us. He just sat there when new instructions were needed. That Everton goal (which was Smalling's OG) you could sense was coming and he didn't even get off his feet.
IF he is given the job he will develop these lads into beasts. They are now first teamers and he will treat them as such. At other clubs he didn't have the same luxury..and the youngsters that were already in and around the team he did play.
Btw to move forward all he'll have to do is fill up the glaring holes, he'd be mad to clear out youngsters coming off a cup final.

We all know this, and how does a new Manager fixed that now? Maybe he put us back there next season. I've advocate LVG Out too because he pissed me off the way he handled ucl and the league this season. At the same time he also promote some young players that are just refreshing. I will gladly sacrifice that top 4 now just to see those young players cement their place and status than some new manger who puts Rashford up for sale and buy Higuain.

This is a manager that has said he prefers to let the players do the thinking on the pitch, after they have been trained and coached. This is a manager known to micro-manage and known to have slow-starts. He is known to take 2-3 Seasons to get his teams up and running. He is known to place faith in youth.
Maybe the players are starting to click after 2 years of LVG's system being rammed upon them. Maybe the youngsters seem to grab the new system better because they haven't been shackled by years of playing a particular way in the old regime. Maybe that's why LVG is loosening the shackles more now as he begins to trust his players to execute his plans more confidently. Maybe LVG now trusts that the players' instinct are more tuned to his way now and allows them to play more so. Maybe he did keep the team small enough so the youngsters have a higher probability of playing. Maybe he does know what he is doing.

What if Mourinho comes in and sell Rashford to Arsenal or Chelsea? That will be awesome right as long as the football is not "dire shit"

Apart from his first job at Ajax where he lasted six years, the man usually peaks in two years before getting sacked in the third. This is a manager responsible for the world's richest club scoring 40 goals in 33 games while barely showing any signs of progress - if we as fans are ok with that, our club is fecked.

Do you realize that our winning run encompasses Villa (worst side in living memory), Palace (9 points from the last 51!) and an Everton side (3 points from the last 21) that's been on the wrong end of tonkings for ages now (Liverpool made them look non-League at times). Even in those, barring Palace, none has been a truly convincing win. We laboured to a 1-0 against Villa and needed a last-minute winner against Everton. Sure, we controlled these games and could easily have put the Everton game to bed ages earlier - but equally, if Lukaku had been in better nick, we could conceivably have lost to the worst Everton side in years.
Oh and I'm sorry, but why is there an either-or in your projection - either we keep LvG and youth OR we lose LvG and youth? I'd reckon that any incoming manager would be insane to cut Rashford, Martial, TFM etc. out... Instead, we're far more likely to see Valencia, Fellaini and co depart...
I was firmly in LvG's corner when he'd come in and backed him right up until this autumn. Now though, there are no doubts in my mind. He needs to go. We can't (and shouldn't) be blinding ourselves to the overall picture each time the team pulls out a semi-decent performance against some crap team. All said and done, we should have been walking all over this Everton team. That we won is something to celebrate, but should equally have been something we expected.

If he's a gem, he'll come through regardless of manager. Many thought Januzaj and Perreira are gems and surprise surprise our current manager is not playing them. Our tradition is to win, and to win with style. It's not this fixation on youth. Some fans are beginning to think like Liverpool, and if the club go down that route we will end up like they did. I'll take the risk of Mourinho over LVG if it gets us back to where we should be - the top.

If we won the next four in the league to finish top 4 and won the FA Cup we'd have won our last 9 games in a row and achieved the bare minimum expected at the start of the season. That is the only scenario I could see there being any debate about him staying but I don't think it would be enough or that it will happen.
Who is our manager next season isn't up to me. For all I know, mourinho could outdo the "fraud" next year like he did this year. What is up to me is supporting the football club which if I can enjoy doing, like I did big time yesterday, I will. I'm not going to let all this manager speculation and worry ruin these good moments that are really the reason why I watch the game. Imagine being depressed while watching us lift our first post SAF trophy only for LVG to be replaced in the summer.

I think he can do much better [in the future] because I see a lot of things that he can still improve and he shall improve. Only by training and by playing can you improve. Also, when you are playing at a higher level then you improve. When you are older you know all the things shall happen again. Then you have experience and you can decide much better in the same situation as before.

Played Herrera for 10 minutes and Herrera helped win the game with a clever tackle/through ball after a flick (good idea, awful execution) didn't come off.
I honestly think if LVG had just started Herrera all the time we'd be in 3rd and he'd have a credible if annoying case for sticking around for another year.
