What's really galling me ATM is that he'll leave an even bigger mess behind than when he started and still have at least 2/3 of his contract banked for retirement. If there's a clause that we can only sack after he's mathematically out of top 4 we should break the contract on principal.

Probably not, but apparently getting sacked in December after 9 wins from 25 matches, losing the dressing room and having a court battle with an employee for doing their job makes you the runaway fans' favourite for the United job so it's hard to tell.

You're only as good as your last job then?

There are lots of reasons Mourinho is s fans favourite. Mainly because he's a proven winner in four countries.

He comes with an element of risk. As do most other available managers.

Woodward and LVG are reading this and pissing their sides.

Next weeks installment sees them blowing up OT and being given 200 year contracts as a reward

Offer it to Giggs until the end of the season, and if he refuses it show him the door aswell.

A second in command is supposed to step up in desperate times, no questions asked.

He should stop giving press conferences. He talks absolute shit. He says he has so much confidence in Romero from the start of the season. Then why the feck did he not play till now? Not against the big teams obviously but not even against Derby? Just be like Mou from now and say, "I have notsing to say."

When it is as bad as his? I'd say so. Obviously many on here don't see it like that. But using Van Gaal's recent record as a reason to ditch him, quite rightly as long as he's followed by a bunch of the players, when your choice to replace him managed 1 win more in the same period doesn't work with me.

This is a truly painful time. I'm totally despondent after that, it really is like the team is dying a death in front of us. I couldn't stand Moyes as he was totally incompetent but I feel much more let down by LVG. I backed him relentlessly until 2 months ago but it is so clear that the players are no longer playing for him.

I don't go in for the personal hatred, the man is clearly not trying to be as crap as he is but it's clear time is long up.

I'm going to the 2nd leg, I hope LVG is not in the dugout.

He should have gone after Stoke. That was the time and the season was salvageable. However, now it's too late . Players know he's a dead man walking and have downed tools.

For all LVG has been the architect of his own downfall, some of those players are an utter disgrace.

Lose to Shrewsbury, get knocked out of Europa, lose to Arsenal and he still won't get sacked. Season is a write off.

I'm going to buy some champagne for when the board finally wake up and realise he needs to go. Can anyone recommend me a decent brand?

he is so predictable its Moyes-esque. He blamed the defeat vs a side that hadn't played for 10 weeks on injuries despite fielding only 2 youngsters in Love and Mcnair. the rest were experienced 1st teamers. Heck if he pushed Carrick back into CB and Mcnair Rb then its : GK romero lb Blind, CB smalling and Carrick RB mcnair DMC Schneiderlin and Herrera RW Lingard LW Memphis AMC Mata CF Martial. To me that's a pretty standard united team this year. Bar Shaw and De Gea, our injured players don't vastly improve that team and it deffo should have enough in it to beat an Amateur side like Midgeland

Must be good to know that you can turn up to work week in week out and be absolutely shit and fail at just about everything, but still know that you won't get sacked.

I give up, I've finally broke. Not that it makes the slightest difference But I've changed my vote from 'see out contract' to 'sack the Cnut'.
I've always been in the idea that the players should shoulder most of the blame but it's pretty much every player playing so poorly every week.
There are so many things wrong with this side it's untrue. I honestly don't even think Jose could sort this mess out unless he buys 8/9 players.
:nervous: The most concerning thing is that you were flirting with the idea of one more season of this. With all his idiotic decisions which will no doubt set us back another 2 years, its just a little bit masochistic.

What a fecking shambles. This man needs to go, he's running this club into the ground. We just lost to a team that hasn't played in two months and got beat off Napoli 9-1 over two legs. Depressing times.

The club deserves to be in this mess and a laughing stock. We as fans don't because we've known for months what needed to be done, but the club totally deserves it. And that's what sucks. We're supporting idiots.

I'm not sure sacking LVG now even if it means bringing in Mourinho is likely to change this seasons fortunes.

If I was Woodward I'd write this season off and start planning for next season.

Where is Woodward??? He doesn't open his mouth. At least say he is staying if he's not going to get sacked.

The longer he waits, the more valid this argument becomes. Fact is, we should have gotten rid long before this became an issue. I genuinely believe Mourinho could have salvaged something from this season if he'd been brought in as soon as he became available and things started going tits up for van Gaal.

This is borderline fecking criminal from the board now. Why are we prolonging this with one of the world's best managers available and willing to come here?

You know, the players are hardly blameless. Either they're over the hill, not good enough or worst of all, not trying.
