I think he will be here for the next game.

If we were going to make a changed we'd have sacked him today. Would've given the team a whole week to prepare for the next game under the new boss or an interim manager. Think Moyes was gone on a Monday as well.

I still think he will be here till its mathematically impossible to get top4.

Who else except Mourinho? And if they don't want him then what do they do?
All speculation, and for all we know Mourinho might not want to take over mid-season so not an option anyway.

Well you said no one except giggs, but now you have mentioned Mourinho (which was my point).

When does the New York Stock Exchange open for business?
You hold on that hope mate, I must admit even I have started to hope for this (even though I know we sacked Moyes at 0830am).

It is the hope that kills ya.

Yeah. What kind of cnut puts family before work.

He is in a totally different type of situation that you, I or anybody on this forum will ever be in. If we were flying high then not much would be made of it but the fact we are in complete disarray and he is having time off for a birthday when he should be doing everything he can to turn this around.

Don't know if these have been posted, but they're pretty sad. Shamelessly stolen from United.no (http://www.united.no/nyhetsarkiv/hvor-darlig-er-denne-sesongen/).

Goals per game:

The top one says 17 games, but it's clearly 23 games.

Why the feck have we not sacked him yet?

This is ludicrous. In no way shape or form is he good enough for the job.

Every match we keep him on we regress - ignore the fact we won a few games recently, we were still fecking atrocious.

I'm not having that rebuilding can cost us nearly £300m and still be nowhere near good enough.

On the other end of the spectrum, how much did Leicester's squad cost?
No argument on the amount, it is quite an amount, but shouldn't surprise people when you consider how many players were bought with the United tax added. Even Fergie paid some extremely large amounts for players. That all said, we should be in a better position having spent that money. I still can't really hand on heart say LVG bought a poor player. I know fans do not like certain players, e.g. Rojo, but I am not so sure anyone he bought was not a significant improvement on what he let go. Only Depay has not worked for me, but it is still too early to write him off.

The longer he remains here the more I'm convinced it's about Woodward. LVG is his man and it reflects badly on him to get rid. Probably has some scenario in his head where we finish top 4 and end up with a trophy and he can point to how he stuck by him.

Im at the point now where i can't believe we haven't sacked him but i also can bring myself to believe we actually ever will. I just have absolutely no faith that the club will do what needs to be done.

We should all start getting used to the fact that it's more likely that the players, the board and the fans will all be replaced before Van Gaal goes anywhere. Or so it seems!

I'd wager my house that if mourinho had taken over rather than Moyes, he would gave won the league that season without any investment
We will never know, he took over a pretty good Chelsea side, but still added some players, without winning the league until the year after. I think those who think the results are the most important thing would have liked Jose, those who wanted the risk driven attacking football would hate Jose. Doubt we, or any club, will ever have a manager that all fans appreciate.

Correct, LVG isnt the main problem anymore....Woodward is and quite frankly since he has taken charge the club has not been run well from a footballing perspective.
It makes no sense to complain because he isnt going anywhere, as long as he continues to make money for the Glazers.

You'd imagine the fact hes not been sacked today, on a day off, he'll certainly be in charge for the friday game now.

Woodward has been a joke, awful on so many levels now and it shows. No one at this club on a board room level has a clue about football it seems, and VG is the tip of the iceberg

Nonsense. No one could possibly do better job than Dave. Just ask him.

Yep, wasn't his fault. He'd have done it all differently if he knew he only had 10 months.

Christ, how did he ever get that job.

Never liked the bloke. He's a convoluted bozo who disappears up his own arse in his attempts to be enigmatic and philosophical. The sooner he goes the better.

Yeah I disagree he would have won the league at the first time of asking without any investment, but my biggest objection to that theory is why wouldnt he have invested? He has his faults but indecision is not one of them, he would have known what he needed with that squad and gone out and got it. I also have my doubts about whether he would have actually won the league at all but that is even more speculative, without knowing who he would have bought etc. He would have kept us competitive at the very least, I have no doubt about that. Though if his usual MO is anything to go by we would have won the league last year and this year the wheels would have come off - so if you look at it that way, we'd probably still be having a shit season this year anyway.

Senior I am guessing that is Rooney, Carrick, Young and maybe Smalling then?

Is this for real? Look like the board finally take this matter seriously (I hope)

The main thing I took from that article

"They have scored only two first-half goals in the Premier League since last summer."

:lol::(

Please please let this be in the end. I hate being mean , but he's not up to it. He was a good manager, but his coaching methods are outdated, his philosophy unrealistic and his approach cautious.
He's in disbelief at how it can't work, showing just how out of touch he is with modern football and the tactics.

There could well be some truth in this, it would explain why he's not been sacked yet (if at all) and why his rumoured resignation wasn't accepted (though I doubt LvG did that).

Or it could just be that having ushered in both Moyes and LvG that he realises that no-one has any faith in his abilities.

I'm starting to get similar vibes. But if that is the case, then why isn't he backing him in the market.

With Mourinho available, and likely briefing that he wants the job, the pressure that the Board would come under to appoint him if the position became available now would be huge....and they clearly don't want him!

Amusing that Rooney would tell Woodward that LVG needs to go. Hopefully he chucks Rooney out while he's at it.
