Big blow for those who wanted rid. This win will carry him to the end of the season at least.

He will probably resign after today because we gaved so many chances away

We are in a position where top 4 isnt secure. Results are important. Will take them anyway we can get them.. But in an ideal world, I'd rather have a manager who can get the team to play decent football.

The performance today was pretty poor.

The performance was what we've come to expect under LVG and it won't improve a great deal whilst he is in charge here but today the result is all that matters.

Completely flukes that result. United improved in the second half but Liverpool were the better side for most of the game. Not having an actual finisher in the team cost them.

Don't think that performance alleviates any of the problems we've currently got with him, but it'll help him hang on for a lot longer.

We have 2 home games coming up. He needs two wins to start to look like he is going to change things.

We've had runs of games like this before under LVG where we hardly create anything but De Gea saves us and we're efficient and take a single chance. It's good while it lasts...

What half is that? The ones he signed?

If he signed mata, fellaini & replacing the youngsters that should be squad players like lingard & borthwick jackson.. Then yes.

The blame should be on van gaal & Woodward. The latter hasn't done crap all this transfer window & we actually do go the rest of the season without adding players that complete our set up then we are shooting ourself in the foot.

I'll enjoy the victory for a couple of days, then it will dawn on me that it's probably saved his job for another month :(

Sack him after a win; that would send a clear message that this is not a knee-jerk reaction but a carefully considered decision.

You've got to hand it to him. He's got one hell of a record against them.

Well yes, if he can take credit for these wins why do people keep making excuses for him saying it's not his fault when we don't score or win, saying he can't put the ball in the net himself but takes the credit for today when the goal was our first shot on target and we basically robbed the scousers.

Yeah because Mata and Fellaini were the problem. They were among our best performers today and both contribute to our goal. Smalling was once again our best defender, De Gea man of the match and Rooney the goal scorer. Meanwhile the wort performers were Schneiderlin and Darmian. Comfortably so at that. It was also Van Gaal's choice to leave the squad so light necessitating the young players. How do you know what Woodward has done in this window?

But yet at times when we are the better side and lose, nobody gives this a consideration.

I'm not sure about what you are trying to say. When we play well and lose people are disappointed but they know that you can't win every games and that sometimes luck isn't on your side. Our current problem is that we don't play well and that it means that we will often lose or draw.

Things have definitely got better last few games let's hope we can continue to improve. He's definitely here till the summer anyways, If we can salvage a top 4 place this season and do alright in the cups I think we can still be happy with that considering how awful we've been recently.

Pressure cooker has been notched down a couple after that.

After peaking in the Bournemouth/Norwich/Stoke period it's been gradually easing down.

Need to capitalise on this now, record a couple more wins back to back

Happy with the win, but holy shit that was some catastrophic football.

We need another plan besides "Hope for a scrappy goal and have De Gea save our hides". We are lucky Liverpools attacking options consist only of incompetent bellends, because a half decent attack would have put a couple past us today
