Luke Shaw out for an extended period with injury

We’re finished. We’re overly reliant on the left side of defence to build up our attacks.

When it rains...

I did think playing so many games last season might take its toll on our players this season but I think we're definitely seeing it now.

A bit like Liverpool crashing and burning in 2 out of last 3 seasons.

Great. Just great. Out injured at the same time as his best mate Mount. Wonder what they were doing together?

What a frustrating season this is turning out to be. And we are only two weeks in. Oh joy! :annoyed:

Shame for him, not in the best form either. Wouldn't mind to see Dalot or even Fernandez there for a few weeks.

This is looking grim and disastrous.

Hopefully we start winning to ease the bad juju and pressure.

If we were being creative we could do what Arsenal have done to support their double attacking midfielder system and play a defensive midfielder as a nominal fullback, letting him invert alongside Casemiro....

Except we don't have another DM. And the midfielder we do have is McTominay. And one of our two AMs is also injured.

I knew we would regret selling Fred.

Great question! Probably playing football. They’re professional footballers. I think you’ll find they play football together quite a lot. It’s their job, you see.

If he's able to get back after the break, it won't be so bad, now that I think about it.

We should be able to get past Forest at home, and we were going to lose to Arsenal and Brighton whether we had Shaw or not, so his absence in the next 3 matches is doubtful to have a big impact on the outcomes.

Months however is bad, very bad. Hopefully it’s not as serious as they think and it is only a few weeks out. The international break might be coming at a good time so he’ll miss fewer games.
I do think I’d it were months they’d really know from the beginning. The article is almost apologetically bringing it up

.... this season is really a test, right?

Luke Shaw should be captain in my opinion. Definitely.

If we stay amongst it, at least we will have some v v good players coming back in the Autumn. But, it's not a great start.

The game against Forest is, for a number of reasons, a big, big game for us. And it will not be easy, Forest will go out and enjoy.

That doesn’t explain Malacia, Mount, Heaton, Hojlund, Mainoo and Amad.

i.e. nearly all out injured players.

Really not a big deal.

We have 6 Premier League games between now and 22nd October due to the international breaks.
