No stamina at all?!
Application. Shaw has what is needed to be one of the best LB's in the league, even post-injury, but he has no heart, application or desire and we can't keep trying to fix that or what for him to get with the program.

I don't recall him ever being outright outrun before yesterday - someone can correct me if I'm wrong - but even yesterday, it was a lack of application first and foremost.

There's more reason to feel let down by this guy than countless others who simply aren't good enough, even if they had Ronaldo's single-mindedness.

He better not start the next game.

I wouldn't even put him on the bench.

His effort out there is a disgrace.
Even if I agree, not sure I want to see Malacia up against Salah to be honest. Would trust Shaw do do better

i hope that's the last time he plays for us. An absolute disgrace.

Real top teams lose patience with players like this very quickly.

If he were at a real top team, he would have been loaned out and then sold years ago.

The real top teams already would have sold Shaw, Rashford, Martial years ago and the likes of Maguire would have been loaned out or sold this summer.

What is tolerated at United is obscene. We are carrying 7-8 players in the first eleven that the true elite teams would have found solutions to get out of the club.

We are a sad, hollow shell of a top club and there is no better example than a chubby, cocky Luke Shaw.

I would take someone who wants to put an effort into it ahead of someone who's phoning it.

Spot on.

I understand why you say that, but Salah scored a hattrick against us at Old Trafford last season. He was Shaw's man. At this point, I think we have to give our new signing a shot. Even if we're throwing him in at the deep end.

Not sure about loaned out, but I do agree overall. Our players get way more chances than they would get at other elite clubs.

Part of it is United trying to 'hold value'. They're desperate not to lose players for nothing. They will renew contracts for players that don't deserve it. I don't think our club is willing to take the hit on a poor signing and then sign someone new for £50m+. We just keep playing them. Hoping that they will eventually become good.

Huh? Malacia shut down the left side of the pitch in the second half. Brentford were running past Shaw constantly in the first half.

Shaw is the probably the laziest left back in the league, the number of times he allows the opposition winger to receive possession, control and steady the ball and then allowing them to cross the ball in, all while he stands yards away watching without putting any pressures or challenges in, is borderline criminal. He just switches off mentally without the ball and doesn't know when to go when to wait and how to anticipate the danger until its too late.

Even worse is his 'effort' in defending crossed from the right side to his back post. The guy could not be bothered yet will outlasts 10 managers soon enough.

top post + I still don’t understand almost no first team players are even rumored to be loaned out after years of non performance. these idiots would have outlasted Moyes, LVG, Jose, Ole and ETH.

Club is probably sticking with its "we finished 2nd that one time" stance and telling ETH to improve what he has. They'll make a few additions but they don't have rhe balls to let the likes of Shaw and Rashford go.

Absolutely. I've gone from being enraged etc to acceptance. We are no longer a top club. Under this ownership Manchester United don't have that mindset and drive for genuine excellence. In our history and tradition we are one of the greatest in the sport but in the ground reality of today, we are just a Mish mash of incompetence and disinterest.

And till our management or owners understand these facts we should let go of our aspirations. BTW Bucs management before Brady also points in the same direction.

Malacia needs to be ahead of him based on what we have seen of Shaw so far this season. He has been useless, lazy, out of position, no drive, no ambition and has walked through the game. An overpaid left back whos time is limited here and someone who has only had one good season in 7 years.

Let him fight for his place this season with Malacia, i think he will get displaced quite quickly and then sell him next summer. We should of sold him years ago when his value was far higher, no doubt he is on high wages so we will have to take a cut down fee just to move him on.

Just compare the Cucurela guy and Shaw. The difference in the intensity is huge. Quite surprising considering he started under Poch very well.

Malacia has to start ahead of Shaw and get a run of games.

Shaw along with a number of others in the squad has underperformed for a considerable period. He's shown what he is capable off, but isn't offering enough at this point in time.

That was the most disappointing part of it. Previously he has easily dominated players like Salah in those longer foot races, without breaking much of a sweat and being in control.

Against Brentford he wasn’t in control and wasn’t close to being at full pelt. Therefore he seemed to lose momentum and lost the sprint and we conceded. It’s the lazy approach that will cost you.

He has often struggled with quick players bursting past him as his acceleration isn’t the best, but this is the first he lost a longer run. Either he’s lost pace or lost interest. Either way he needs improving.

Should get rid assuming Malacia checks our. Fernandez can be the understudy

Shaw has generally been crap at the start of the season and only starts picking up form when he starts to lose weight by the time the first international break is over.

After that it’s a crapshoot over whether he starts playing himself into form or gets injured.

I'd play him so he can be the one to take the pummeling vs Liverpool and then play Malacia as starter moving forwards, he's shite

Said this before the season. Going into a season with Luke Shaw is just ridiculous. We have seen everything that needs to be seen from Shaw. He is plain average to low player.
Almost all the arguments for him start with the word "If"

looks like he has put the weight back on again. Just looks so heavy out there. Can see why ETH wanted a new LB to come in

My impression of him is a jogger. Not only recently but even in Mourinho's days.

Been on his back for years and can't say I am surprised he is still shit. Biggest imposter at the club.

Between he, Rashford, Maguire, AWB and Henderson this is one of the most overrated local cores at the club ever. All joggers. 90% of the team is probably also overrated off the back of that 2020 season. Club now refuses to move on from chronic underperformers because they played well once upon a time

Shaw and Rashford on the left is probably the most boring thing I have seen in years. They are on a free fall, not sure how they will recover from that.
