Shaw when he gets a kick up the ass
Great to have him back at his best. So good on the ball. Shouldn't forget Malacia, he's young, he will grow and improve and he has loads of qualities as well, and is a brilliant backup to have. But Shaw is obviously the main LB given what he can provide on the ball.

It’s a shame that most of his time here he’s been underperforming because games like tonight make you realise he has the ability to be consistently world class.

I've been very pleased with his performances recently, has his mojo back.

He is such a baller, saddens me when he isn't bothered. Been brilliant since he came back from Weight Watchers.

He such a talented footballer one of the few in our squad who would look comfortable in a pep system.

Everyone is in this, especially for such a strange season. Malacia will play a lot, like everyone else.

I agree, fecking hate when he just isn't interested. His end product isn't all that but his passing and movement is great and his first touch is brilliant.

If not for Bruno I'd say Luke was man of the match for me. Absolute top performance and everything you would expect from your LB.

Not surprised our possession game went up a level with him back in the team and performing well.

76 passes and 110 touches today.
Even though Spurs basically gave up the entire field to us, that’s super impressive for a LB.

Fair play played well. Hope he keeps it up at least if he doesn’t we know Malacia is a good replacement

There was an instance where it looked like there was a 50/50 he was going to jog to instead he sprinted to it slid and won the ball. I was thinking wow, this is the intensity we need from our players, it stops the attack so high up rather than waiting for them to come to us.

Brilliant performance.

Yeah that moment stood out. Really lifted the crowd. The type of thing that hasn’t been happening enough in recent years.

Of my many Shaw highlights yesterday, I think when he NBA style slapped the ball out of the throw-in takers hands might have been my number one.

Just mentioned it in the de Gea thread but worth bringing up again, his first touch is excellent. He's so reliable when we need to play through a press because he kills it dead every time which gives him that extra second to play the next pass.

His tackling in the midfield area is so good as well. Gets that little chode body in the way of everything.

The talent Shaw possesses is absolutely immense. It's unfortunate really that lads like him, Rashford, Martial, Sancho etc...haven't had ETH in sooner.

I have no doubt in my mind that had Shaw signed for Guardiola or Klopp at 19/20, we'd have been talking about him as a generational fullback. Instead he's coasted through months at a time of his career

Let's hope that ETH can keep him playing at his peak every week because we're a far better side with an in-form Luke Shaw playing

He's probably one of our best players from a pure technical perspective. As you say, his touch is fantastic, he's so press-resistant and he very rarely loses the ball, even in tight spots

If he moved to City in 2014 and didn't get that horrific leg break, he'd have been talked about as the greatest fullback England has ever seen or at worst 2nd to Cole.

People forget that he was in the PL team of the year at 18. He looked to have almost everything already at Southampton.

The amount of people who never wanted to see him on the pitch again just a few weeks ago because Malacia had been half decent for a couple of games. It's always been painfully obvious that Shaw's talent is unmatched by any left-back we could realistically attain. When you have a player like that, you do what you can to play him into form.

I think people, including myself were fed up him strolling through games and basically not being very good for the majority of his 6 or 7 of his 8 seasons here. Not just based off a few games this season. He was rightfully dropped for Malacia and has once again decided to up his game since he realised he's not guaranteed to start, like he did when Telles came in. He's coasted through the majority of his career at Utd because he had little or no competition for his place.

If he can play like this every week, then it's great for the team. But, it really shouldn't take the threat of losing his place in the team to light a fire under his arse.

He's a phenomenal player when he's arsed. Crazy he's still only 27.

Fast, strong as a bull and a great passer.

He seems to always have a good reaction any time his place is under threat and harkening back to last season he’s one of quite a few players that will be like a new signing if he can get back to his best.

I've always said Pep would turn him into a CDM like he did with Lahm

Looking back over the last few years, he WAS the reason we played well. As soon as he got injured under Ole the train fell apart.

So often we used him as the outball from defence as he was the only one who can play under pressure.
