Beast. That is all. Felt he should have played the ninety but I guess cos he’s injury prone makes some sense.

That's fair, martial annoys me because ideally with both him and Rashford being better on the left vs the right, they should be changing a lot during the game but they don't

I think Rashford has been much better than martial this season. By a huge amount

Outside of bruno, Rashford has been most productive
But that's another point

Wonder what would have happened with memphis if Shaw didn't get injured as it looks like they had good chemistry on and off the pitch

Haha don't get me started. Or maybe they have and he's just being himself...

Sadly we didn't get the chance to see that. For the price that Depay has now, i don't get why we don't try to buy him again.

Ran the first half, he's went up a couple of levels from the player we hoped he'd be when we bought him, the fact he went off at half time speaks to how important he's become.
He also completely changed the complexion of the game when he was brought on at halftime against Wolves (a game in which he was rested). Easily our most important player, like someone said he is our main playmaker, and it's clear how much he is used as an outlet by our other players, he can control any ball that is played to him with his immaculate touch and control.

“I think Luke Shaw’s must be a big injury, because to leave the pitch after nine minutes, I am expecting a very big injury.”
“It was his body with my brain,”
"He [Maguire] will learn over the season he needs to do that a lot [cover for Shaw]."
"This is a tactical but also a mental attitude."
'Darmian can play left-back, right-back and an emergency central defender for us so my choice was Darmian.'
'I cannot compare the way he trains, the way he way he commits, the focus, the ambition. He is a long way behind.

His progression this season has been remarkable. I think he’s won me over and I really disliked Luke Shaw. I’m sure he’ll be delighted when he finds out.

He’s taken so much stick over several years and it’s brilliant to see him now producing quality football each week and getting recognised for it.

Has the chance to become one of our best ever in his position. Fingers crossed.

 fecking scandalous. So so happy that dinosaur of a manager is finished and causing havoc elsewhere. Would love for Shaw to win something this season and then go on to have an absolute scorcher at the Euros.

Have we ever had a fullback with better technique than him?

He is absolutely mint

Actually quite a heartwarming story considering his injury, where he was under Jose and then now. Well done lad!!

Too young to have seen him, but Irwin? Supposedly a master on either foot and an absolute dead ball specialist. Must’ve been a great technical fullback.

Such a good player. Makes Robertson look Championship class.

Stick by what I said previously, if he was fit for the europa semis last year then we would have gone all of the way.

I’ve been a massive detractor but the man has stepped up massively.

I don’t care if it was against 10 men, he was the perfect wideman against a packed defence in the first half.

Surely England’s best LB by some margin at this point.

Hard to answer that. Irwin was one of my favourite ever players and there are many similarities. Evra was also top quality at his peak but maybe a bit unpredictable.

I remember when LVG was backing him massively and he was on fire the start of that season, only for the injury to come. This is what we all saw/wanted from him and I get it was only against 10 men and an already injury ravaged team but he deserves so much praise for his form this year.

From what I've seen Irwin was class, Shaw is the better dribbler though.

I think Luke Shaw is the entire story of our Mourinho to Ole transition. We've made progress though at times it hasnt seemed like a lot, but one area where its night and day is how the players are treated and the hostile work environment we had with Mourinho looking for an excuse to bury our players and Ole being supportive of all the players. Shaw plays like hes very relaxed.

I think a large part of Shaws improvement has been him maturing off the pitch.

I can see why Jose didn’t like him, Shaw was late for training before because his mum didn’t wake him up

Hes grown up, has a child and seems to be taking his football more seriously. He was outstanding today.

Having an excellent season this year, seems to have stepped up onto another level. Feel he's got it in him to get even better

Luke Shaw was phenomenal, yet again! Brilliant crosses!

If he can stay fit, healthy and consistent, he'll be one of the league's top left backs.

I can’t remember the last time a player has improved specific technical attributes the way Shaw has with his crossing/set piece delivery. It’s been a revelation, he’s up there with the best attacking full backs in the world at the moment, amazing stuff and hope it continues.

Shaw carries the ball - he’s not what you would call a dribbler, he doesn’t weave or go past people, but there are very few players I’ve seen take the ball up the pitch in the way he does. It’s not spectacular, but very effective.

Rapidly becoming my favourite player, comes back from a potentially career ending injury, outlasts that Portuguese cock womble and becoming the best LB in the league this season. Better than messi.

Grande. Fabulous 45 minutes, just perfect. Easily a 9/10 performance

Good description, he knows how to attack the space.
