I do think Morata is the better player, but I'm comfortable with either as our 9. If Lukaku is an Andy Cole or Trezeguet level striker who doesn't do a ton in terms of pressing or creating for others but consistently scores 2 goals in every 3 games in his prime that'll be plenty helpful.
I think Lukaku, Rashford, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Mata, Pogba, Herrera, Shaw, Valencia, Lindelof, Bailly, Blind (utility man) and De Gea are the core going forward for the next 2-3 years. Looking at that, we desperately need a CM (2, really) and then a younger RB to push/replace Valencia, maybe an LB depending on Shaw's health and Mourinho and his relationship, but otherwise it looks quite promising for the first time in a while.
