Luis Suárez

Losing out on Suarez for Liverpool will just be massive for them. He was so vitally important to them, even more than Bale was for Spurs. I rate Rodgers as a manager and he'll have some exciting young players to work with next year but without the class of Suarez, his constant threat upfront, the fear he strikes into opponents hearths they will just miss that umph that has been driving them for most part of this season and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they fall back to 5th or 6th place, possibly with the CL they'll have to deal with (which haven't been used for a long time) they might run into some additional problems and may even fallback further. I don't think Liverpool is going to play any role of significance in the PL next season whatsoever without Suarez.

That's definitely not true.

That's what I read earlier and it was from the English press which I would trust more than Spanish press, Liverpool wanted the whole buy out up front but Barca didn't have it all, good thing for us.

What is good thing for us in it either way? We are not a party to transfer.
Sure believe English press if you want. Not sure why you come across as protective of Liverpool and criticizing United in your posts generally. Can guess why but you know it already ;)

It's easy enough to understand, it's good for us as Liverpool don't get the whole fee to spend straight away on a big star to replace Suarez.

There are many players available out there and hardly any of United and Liverpool's targets are clashing. Ya additional fee will mean additional revenue for one of our rivals which they can use but in grand scheme of things it is hardly worth bothering about when we have likes of City and Chelsea spending big over the years.

I'm not sure there's anyone they can get to outright replace Suarez to be honest so I'm not too worried about that.

It's funny isn't it. Imagine giving a rats ass about £15m here or there in a Suarez fee when two of our biggest rivals of recent time are funded by an oligarch and a sovereign wealth fund.

Saying that, it'll be funny if/when Liverpool get dicked over on the fee. If only because of all the posturing by their fans about him going for 'Bale money'.

Even with that idiot who messes up their deals regularly doing the negotiating I find it hard to believe they got £15m less than they buy out clause they and the player agreed, doesn't make any sense.

To be fair, Liverpool fans are fairly typical on here these days, so you're not that special mate.

Enjoy life without Suarez.

Is this a thing now? You accuse people who don't share your views of being fans of other clubs?

How have you lasted on here since 2008

I remember this clown for the Dutch v Costa Rica game, great match he says

Wouldn't know good football if it kicked him up the arse.

Suppose the 90 mins tonight was exhilarating stuff too?

Not every match needs to be 4-3 to be a great match you idiot. And yes the Costa Rica game was enjoyable. And your point is?

You are the clown who wants us to sign Michael Bradley, which shows how much you know.

You obviously know so much about football, you spotted Bojan playing when he was 16 yeah? You named yourself after him so you could tell everyone you knew about him ages ago, where is he now?

We're talking about football here, go away troll.

Second time you posted that and you are named after Manucho!

Troll? No the only bad WUM is you. I'm not the only one who has questioned why you such a shit poster.

The Holland v Costa Rica match was superb entertainment, particularly the extra time and penalties. It had almost everything, chances at both ends, goal line clearances, shots off the bar and post, last minute goalkeeping saves, and then the drama of penalties.

It was a great watch, and anyone who suggests otherwise is clueless.

To clarify I meant in the 90 mins, in particular the 1st half was dire. The Dutch really only took risks to win it late on in normal time and in extra time which made it a more open game.

They're not easy on the eye I must say but I know it's needs must for the Dutch.

That makes more sense. I still found it an interesting watch, but yeah, it came to life second half and extra time.

The Dutch squad is pretty shit.

Nobody called me a shit poster, one guy said my style was weird which is a relief to be honest, not fitting in with the muppets and internet fans/football hipsters will do me fine thanks.

You talking about the guy who is suspended again for biting someone for the third time who wants to leave your team?

Can't think of a reason.

It's funny how everyone is using Gareth Bale as a comparison to Luis Suarez. Not unexpected I suppose considering their respective talents & the fact that both will eventually be players for Real & Barca respectively. I do feel however, that you have a point regarding Bale's importance to Spurs. After all, in his final season at WHL, Tottenham accumulated 72 points & came pretty close to a CL spot. Last season, most would agree that it was nothing short of a disaster for the London club, & yet they still only fell 3 points short of the previous season's total. To me, that suggests a few things : 1 - Tottenham's players are maybe not quite as bad as many make out. 2 - If they have managed to replace AVB & Sherwood with a superior manager, then there's every chance they'll put themselves in the mix for a CL spot. 3 - It'll show that losing a world-class player doesn't always have the negative effect that many perceive.

I'd agree with some of this, Eriksen is a class act, while Dembele and Paulinho both have big potential they didn't really show last season. I think Pochettino is a top manager and with a few shrewd signings they can push the top teams again.

It's not a healthy situation for a club to be overly reliant on any 1 player, sooner or later you need to plan for losing him.

Who will Pool replace him with?
Can't think of many top class strikers available and willing to go there at the moment.

Jackson Martinez is the twitter rumour today, decent finisher although his form fell away towards the end of the season and I think I only saw him once or twice as a sub for Colombia in the World Cup. I don't think there's anyone they can replace Suarez with, they'll try another striker and hope their new attacking midfielders will help spread the weight of goals and assists.

That's good. Usually to get player off Porto it's not cheap. He's nowhere near Suarez as a player and I'll be happy if they spend 30m + to get his services.
