Louis van Gaal: See you next year!

You think he's bad now, imagine what he'll be like next season when he knows he's off in the summer regardless of what happens. Not even worth thinking about.

Seriously, he might just be trying to keep the players focused as much as possible. It can't be easy if they think you're on the way out.
At least I hope that's the reason:nervous:

He'll be paid handsomely for his troubles if reports are to be believed. If van Gaal stays another season we will be well and truly fecked!! We can't afford to pass up on Mourinho if only to challenge Guardiola and Conte and not slip further behind other up and comings!

Like he deserves an even bigger paycheck after this "great" season of ours, right? I'm not even sure what'll happen with us if LvG stays yet another season. Mourinho will probably give up on getting this job if it's true. We don't need him just to challenge to likes of Guardiola and Conte, but Klopp, Pochettino and heck, maybe even Ranieri again!

Can you imagine the meltdown the caf will have to endure this summer if this really happens?

I don't know why people are convinced that he is gone, they only base that conclusion on how they feel about LVG. I really don't think that it's obvious.

His future is in his hands. Whether people accept it or not, he comes top 4 and wins the cup... he will probably be here.

Don't think we will get Top 4. That is what's important to the board, the cup is more important to me as it's a trophy and you don't get a trophy for fourth place.

Looking at it objectively, there as much evidence that he's stays if not more than he leaves. People have become so obsessed with the Mourinho thing that they're becoming blind to reason.
The club cannot back LVG because there is still a possibility he leaves. That doesn't mean the odds aren't in his favour.

What else is he supposed to say? Nonsense story.

I can't see Mourinho being anywhere but here.

Heck if LVG does stay, I'll actually find it interesting to see where Mourinho will go.

I'd keep him if there were no good replacements available, however one of the best managers in modern football is available and really wants this job and will stop at nothing to prove the doubters wrong is available in Mourinho.. out with the old and in with the new regardless of the top 4 and FA cup result.

So because we gave him a 3 year contract that means he'll be here for all 3 years?

I must have slept through 5 years of Moyes, how did that go?

He's preparing a bid the ground for an unfair dismissal case.

Well, if we show progress and, lets say...win the rest of our games maybe he'll make it next season? Ill let myself out, thanks.

This is relevant here. De Telegraaf have been insisting for the last few weeks that he's staying.

That thread title deserved its own music, something like alarm sound from Rogue (Star Wars) trailer.

I was referring to Mourinho getting paid a tidy sum, if United don't give him the job next season if reports are true.

It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility that he'll be here next season.

Our club is capable of doing anything, good or totally mental.
Name one good thing that our club has ever done.

Signing Martial.

Seriously, LVG's 3rd year would be poisonous. The press must have a field day with Wenger and LVG taking the piss where fan of both clubs meltdown.

This is going to be one of those threads that lasts months because LvG will stay and people will be annoyed. Calling it now

Unfortunately, much like when he made it through December, it will take a while to sink in that he hasn't actually been sacked.

Might well be that they don't care what fans worldwide think, but they are aware of it – unless they're purposely avoiding the whole Internet.

Everyone knows a majority of United's fans want LVG gone, and that a majority of those again want Mourinho to replace him. It's almost literally impossible for Woody and the owners not to be aware of this. But, again, whether this makes any difference to them is another question entirely.

The owners of United won't be coming onto the forums. They see what happens at matches, and the fans have mostly been very supportive considering the awful football we've been fed this season.

Maybe he is trying to save face for having to leave, by saying he only wanted to do two years anyway? The headline and the comments don't really tie up.

They can use youth has a way of saying how the team is building on what the season gone, which the club do not want to start again.

It's not just forums, though. It's every social media out there as well. And even the forums have made the news lately. The Caf's Maureen poll was mentioned on TV a while back, and in general the media has long since picked up on the fact that LVG is not a popular man - it's been part of the "crisis" story they've peddled for most of the season.

So, I really don't think the Glazers are blissfully unaware of this. But it could easily be that they don't consider it a crucial factor - and certainly not in the short term.
