London 2012 - Track & Field/Athletics

Yea, I think so too. Bolt really shouldn't have been pissing around with the WC. He could've gotten low 9.5x and would've had that record for a very, very long time. Now he's not able to run as fast as he used to due to injuries and whatever else

Bolt had a bad start today, I think he will still win this.

BBC are pissing me off a little now, ignoring everyone that isn't Ennis.

Even fellow Brits Johnson-Thompson and Hazel are being ignored, hell in KJT's interview time yesterday she was asked one question, how do you think Jess did.

It's ridiculous.

I understand that. They deserve recognition too.

 But Jessica.. What a woman! She's really taken control of the competition now. Just needs to finish it off.

It's ridiculous.

Not only that, the interviewer was standing between her and the camera. KJT is doing really well in the heptathlon, she deserves more credit.

They were praising the Frenchwoman who just set a record in the javelin a minute ago.

You must've missed the interview they did with Johnson-Thompson and Hazel about an hour ago then.

Finally is it not natural to talk about the leader and one with a reputation [Jess being British of course comes into play and why not]? Do they not heavily remark upon Bolt or Phelps when they are performing?

ETA: Lifetime best from Ennis.

Chambers goes from 10.25 to 10.02. Think he'll be pissing in a few pots.

Jess is no better looking than the other 2 though, better heptathlete at the moment sure (KJT broke Jess' junior record IIRC).

I saw the interview, little 2 minute job for them. Nice, full coverage I see.

You say that about the other favourites, but Phelps is getting similar treatment to others in the pool with him, he's certainly not getting excessively more publicity from them than say Lochte, whilst build up has been that Bolt may struggle.

In fact the only one that can be compared to Jess is probably Beckie Adlington so far, ad I do expect British athletes to get centre stage from them, Adlington was the only one, Ennis has 2 compatriots in there with her, who are getting zero recognition. Hell yesterday KJT was 3rd going into the evening session, yet they didn't mention her once!

Well i've been listening to the various BBC radio coverage and watching the dedicated channels, in my experience i think we can count ourselves very fortunate with the BBC.

Oh I agree, as I said that's my only issue to date.

We should strive for perfection, whilst they have been very, very good I'm still gonna nitpick. It can always get better.

Yeah not the greatest start there but at least he scraped it.

The US track uniforms suck. Since when do we wear Red? We're not Canadians...or Soviets.

Blue or White with red would have been far better.

Also, there are some right mingers in these track events. The Kazakh woman...

Have you seen the Russian track suits? They are seriously 1980s- ghastly things.

Ohourogu (sp?) safely through. Things picking up maybe.

those female discus throwers are scary.

whereas the female heptathletes are all very fit.

Ever since I read that article about the olympic village being a cesspool of sex, alcohol and more whoring, I can't stop thinking about it when I see fit athletes. They are getting tapped at these events.

I have decided to start sprinting. It's funny how appealing it is to just run as fast as fast as you can. Primal appreciation shit.

Gonna start first thing tomorrow morning. Anyone know a good android app for this shit?

Young Katarina having good run in the 800m heptathalon. Her time will come. She looks really promising.

She has a cracking body too. Looked hot when she was laid on the track.
