London 2012 - Track & Field/Athletics

Why not just run the race properly? Surely running for an extra 3 seconds at the end won't destroy you.

Actually a hamstring or groin pull would destroy him. No point in exerting yourself if the win is already in the bag.

Gatlin, Blake and Bolt all look like they can do faster. Could we see three people all beating the previous WR?

The two jamaicans seem to be on another level. The way they just cut their effort in the last few meters (specially Bolt) is so impressive

Has the best young sprinter recently world commit himself to running for Britain or something? If so we could have some real contenders in the next few Olympics.

You guys could be right on Gatlin. The fecker's 30 and a time like that? Unreal!

Just don't trust someone that's been caught cheating not once, but twice. Would be bad for the sport if he won.

Fantastic watching Mo get his medal. What a guy.

That's why I can't understand them doing it. If caught, they are never trusted again. Every performance is scrutinized.

Now talking to Louis Smith and Max Whitlock. Great result for them. Louis thought he could have won, but is taken it well.

You heard what I heard.

I suppose, though, he's pobably seen this guy for his whole career and knows what he's been capable of before.

Still, it's funny that none of the Brits who have smashed world records (especially the women cyclists who broke the WR in every race) are ever mentioned

Yes, but quite often we are breaking our own WR. As you say it is when the performance is out of the ordinary. If we were terrible cyclists and then all of a sudden we are world beaters, there would be suspicions.
