She'll do well to get any medal given she limped* into the final. Although maybe not having any other fast swimmers in her heat was actually a bit of a disadvantage.

Yeah but looking at that I think she purposely took her foot off the gas, why waste energy when she was so far out in the lead? She could probably go faster than that.

It was really empty this morning, big gaps all over the place.
What just happened? I left the room for a second and then there was a commentator saying "the best swim i have seen by someone of that age ever"

It is great from the 8th lane. She won her heat, so pleased for her.
she was not expected to do that well, she was the slowest out of the finalists.
Adlington looked pleased with that and why not with the 800m still to come.

It was a terrible heat with no one to drive her. Really pleased for her.

Good start by the two... can anyone tell me why certain judges scores don't count? Is it that the highest and lowest get discarded or something?
Pretty much.
This really is fun to watch.
There are seven judges, the highest and lowest scores are discarded and the middle five are summed, then ratioed by 3/5 (to bring the scores in line with competitions where there are only 5 judges), and multiplied by the difficulty rating.
