Liverpool's inevitable q̶u̶a̶d̶r̶u̶p̶l̶e̶ tr̶i̶p̶l̶e̶ dibble/ The Hala Madrid Thread

Despise madrid, despise liverpool, but when it comes to the final next Saturday, got a feeling benezma will decide it for madrid.

I am wondering when the cycle for this particular liverpool team will end, probably when they lose either mane or salah.

Ideally both

Absolutely delighted Liverpool didn’t win the league today. 1 league title in 8 years (Covid League) for Klopp isn’t great is it. Never mind dippers he does do those amazing fist pumps for you. Cringe feckers..

Huge moment, without that, the world might have been spared the whole Jose thing at Chelsea.

Tbh, One of the greatest Milan's side choked agansit La Cor leg2 was a very important moment in that UCL. It would be different story, if they won against La Cor.

He did something similar with a bottle once. Can’t remember who we were playing. Such a weirdo sometimes.
His teeth clenching rage against the sideline official when he was at BvB is still the best highlight.

I'm no mod but I think part of signing up to a rival forum is you have to be respectful that's at least the bear minimum. Writing that type of rubbish that @ThierryFabregas did is pathetic and so cringe it's ban worthy.

He's newish and seems to be emotional, and the team he seems to actually support team fell short today. So we'll keep an eye.

Some people here really comparing Klopp to SAF. The state of things.

If Liverpool win the CL surely it can't be classed a treble. It's a double, the energy drink cup means feck all.

Really means feck all if they don't win a CL and the two trophies they win are the two that Klopp routinely drops out of early every other season.
Well done and all but im wondering what brought the sudden turn around on them. Maybe Klopp wasn't expecting such a season and wanted to stabilise the squad after last year?

They’ll market it as a treble but the reality is, unless the league is in it it’s fairly hollow.

All Sextuples are equal;
Barca 09
Bayern 20
Liverpool 01.

As hollow as it is Wiki shows Utd on 42 trophies and Liverpool moved up by two to 45. We'd only be one ahead of you otherwise.

You need to start winning some hollow trophies.

Trophies still count, don’t get me wrong, but a treble or a double are only a treble or a double if the league features in it. It’s why City won the ‘domestic treble’ a few years ago, and you won the League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA cup in 2001.

It will still be a great achievement if they win the CL.

I’m admittedly jealous of their European success.

That said though it’s not the treble and everyone knows that to be the case.

These Cup competitions are a freak. The top clubs play their reserves and if they have a lucky draw, they get to the semi finals and then play their first team. Think Liverpools Hardest game in the FA cup was the semi final against a injury hit tired City team.

The other cup, they were Virtually out against Leicester, but scored a injury time equaliser and won …..surprise surprise , on Penalties.

Not sure what happened in that game against Leicester ,but the fans and players were furious (Leicester) and they treated the next league match against them as a cup final. Looking back now, that was the league game that cost them the title.

Klopp somehow fecked that up.

I think it's a much harder achievements if they manage 2 domestic cups, CL title and 92 points in the league against an oil doped City compared to your 79 points in the league and 2 quite fortunate cup wins in '99.

That aside in 1984 they won the League, European Cup/CL and League Cup

And I think it was 2001 they won UEFA, FA Cup and League Cup.

If they do it this season that's 3 trebles and how many doubles. They probably have the most double seasons of various cups/leagues in English football history.

Actually their last title was the fortunate cup win in the history of PL.

Imagine playing with 5 subs, water breaks, months rest before restart

If Liverpool win next Saturday, I think it could definitely be argued that even without factoring in money spent on transfer fees and wages, what they inherited when they both took over etc., that at face value Klopp's haul of 2 CL wins and 1 league title would be better than Guardiola's of 4 league titles and 0 CL wins since they both arrived in England.

But in keeping with this thread, I hope he doesn't get that 2nd CL win (I don't dislike Klopp himself at all but I certainly dislike the club that he's in charge of) and Hala Madrid !

Only an idiot would argue that.

Winning the league is the bread and butter of every manager out there. It’s a 38 game marathon where the winners are there on merit, and not on luck or other factors. The fact that City’s owners don’t understand that doesn’t diminish on what an achievement it is.

The Champions League is prestigious, but it’s fundamentally a knock out cup where the best team doesn’t necessarily pick up the trophy. A lot relies on luck. Which is fair enough - we love that about the sport.

There’s The Treble and The Double. Even the Premier League and Champions League isn’t considered The Double in this country even though it’s a superior double.

Well with trophies mate we've won more FA Cups than you and without checking I think we've won more since Fergie left you. Liverpool have won far more CLs out of English clubs, You've won the most League titles though, at least until City surpass you though and then you won't be the top of any trophy stack will you?

I never claimed we've won the trebble. But yes yours was very flukey with the penalty miss, Vieira assists and boot it and hope corners as your crowning moment.

We'll worry about that in 2036

We are the only league in europe to have a 2nd crap domestic cup competition (and we complain about fixture congestion). So if liverpool won, it wouldnt be a 'proper' treble.

They'll be counting Salah's half of the Golden Boot.

I don’t think any team would ever achieve the treble in future, its really hard and kind of impossible feat.
