Diouf = 18 goals for Lens and Senegal last year. Being FORCED to provide the width and creativity we lack and one of the most skillful players in the Prem.

And you know it, Shanks thinks.

Ball control is good, not spectacular, decent pace, reasonable vision, though not in Gerrard's or even Murphy's class. It's easier to score in France I reckon.

Diouf is an decent player no more. He's not as bad as some on here have made him out to be, but he's not worth 10m, and certainly not one of the most skillful players in the league.

I reckon he is one of the most skillful players in the league...his control is superb

He needs to become more effective tho

As I've said on here before, Diouf has a lot of talent and could be a very good player if he learns how to play on a team and not as an individual. Too bad he's a total cnut.

He may have scored 40 a season in France (Guivarch used to do so after all) but if Diouf is doing nothing right in the EPL than he is a flop

And playing a striker as a winger for a long term means being a flop

Not necessarily. We're playing a winger and an attacking midfielder as striker occasionally, and it seems to work out most of the time.

I know that I like to take the mick out of the Scousers but when I find someone like you Spinoza who wants to discuss, Ill discuss.

Having close links with Liverpool (I have a close Maltese friend who had been the President of Liverpool Supporters club here in Malta for ages, is close friend of Houllier, Owen and Pinocchio (ehmm sorry but its hard to kill the habit) and had been responsible of bringing Liverpool’s team in Malta). I am in a position to know what I am saying

Houllier had done loads of good for Liverpool. He regained the power from certain players (Incey and Fowler) who literally ran the club. Brought in discipline and reconstructed Liverpool in a continental way. Some of his transfers where master strokes (Hypia, Dudek and Henchoz) but that doesn’t mean that he is the ideal man to lead you to glory

Why?

a) His cautious style of play makes him impossible to win the EPL. Remember that you need to strip as much points as possible to win the league and playing defensively will encourage several small clubs who will be more than happy to earn a point against a big team

b) Liverpool is a one dimensional team (only capable to defend and hit the opponents on counters), you cannot ask creativity and class from players like Hamann, Biscan and Smicer

c) Liverpool have too many players that are not up to the standards of a title contender. Players like Diouf, Heskey, Biscan, Smicer and Diao

I think Liverpool needs a new manager (more attacking minded) with Houllier moving upstairs.
