I agree with this, you put it much more succinctly than I was intending to.The media have to do that, they are selling you a product and their product is stories.
They can't sell "this year is a bit substandard and any trophy winners are kind of insignificant " because it doesn't sell.
The story has to be, this is the most ever, this is history being written in front of our eyes. Hence why everything i read is about Salah and 3 trophies for Liverpool. Until it all goes tits up and they switch the story to "the most amazing collapse football has ever seen".
Its always been this way, the reason you dont feel the same about the media in SAFs time is because you agreed with the story. Which makes you just like every football fan.
The most successful team will always have accusations levelled at them by rival fans. I don't feel that we have been at our mercurial best this season, but we're a well oiled machine that contains players that know exactly what is required of them. As a successful team, you're obviously going to create more chances and have the potential for debatable decisions, that applied to United in the 90/00s and applies to Liverpool this season. Honestly, a red for Nunes would have been very soft and to debate the second penalty, when a clear movement of the elbow was made towards the ball, is clutching at straws (understandably), in my opinion.
