Benitez has never brought a world class player to Anfield. Not once. If you're happy with Morientes, Bellamy, Gonzalez, Josemi, Aurelio, Sissoko, Pennant and the countless other wankers, then so be it.
Where as the ones you have stated have been good siginings, not one has set the Premiership alight - we will have to see whether Torres justifies any of this hype.

I've no idea why he never got a run of games as a striker. Looked promising upfront for the dutch underage sides and was so predictable for Liverpool playing wide on the left.
Didn't really see what people saw in him back then, he won Golden Ball at the u21's but he didn't look that good. He wasn't significantly better than Rigters at the tournament, and even then he didn't look much cop.
