Liverpool 2024-25 | Inevitably winning the quadruple

It’s fecking depressing how well they’re doing. It’s even more depressing that we’re having our worst season since the fall of the Soviet Union.

I said I'd wait until Xmas to see if they dropped points and Arsenal were able to put a run together to close the gap, and the gap still remains, so can't see anything other than Liverpool winning it now.

I don't see much between the teams, but Liverpool have a world class player on top form at the business end of the pitch, and seem to be enjoying the relative stability in terms of injuries that we enjoyed last season.

There's half a season left to go, and this is a season where going to places like Bournemouth, Brighton, Forest etc seem more difficult than usual, and though I can see Liverpool dropping more points I can say the same of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Not to mention you’ve to come through a double header against Newcastle in the cup while they get to repeat todays stroll against Spurs.

Just like last season, the paranoia on here about Liverpool is absurd. They collapsed spectacularly last time.

I'm sorry? What? I agree, some things are falling quite nicely for Liverpool however, we've had Alisson, Trent, Bradley, Konate, Jota, Elliott, Tsimikas and Robertson injured, in fact we've had only just fever injury days than Arsenal:

I didn't say you were injury free, I compared it to Arsenal of last season who weren't injury free either, but did have our main guys available for the majority of games.

Allison has been unavailable but you do have the best No 2 in the league in Kelleher.

Just having a quick look, it seems Van Dijk has been available 16/16 games, Robertson 15/16, Trent 15/16, Gravenberch 16/16, Mac Allister 15/16, Szoboszlai 16/16, Diaz 16/16, Gakpo 16/16, Nunez 15/16, Salah 16/16.

The oddest thing about Liverpool is that some serious football people forgot that they got 82 points last season with a brand new midfield. Of course that was the start of something rather than being an anomaly.

And just like every season in the last 20, Arsenal will fail to take advantage. No doubt another trophy less season.

Every chance they smash Fergies best season points wise. Mad when you look at their team and it seems rather average outside of Salah

The competition is rather average at best that's why.

Annoyingly was hoping for a dip post klopp but they've seem to found a better base defensively which is a great platform for winning games. Luck here and there but there isn't really anybody to challenge them. Winning the game in hand to go 7 points clear near the half way mark means a team (Chelsea) has got to, least, better than by three games in the second half

Fair play I guess, they’ve spent their money well in the past 5 and even 10 years. By many metrics, their spend compares more to the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa than the teams they compete with at the top of the table.

I especially fecking hate it when we’re so piss poor in comparison :(

Is it? Allison, Van Dijk, Konate, and Alexander-Arnold are all among the best current players in their respective positions. I'm not sure about their midfield because they are all relatively young/new, but there is a lot of promise there as well. I guess up front they have less quality and Salah is carrying them there; but I wouldn't say that for the team overall. And anyway, no team has top players in every position.
