Score Prediction League Winner 2023/24
Can now rest key players in PL games to focus fully on winning the Champions league.
Don't really think that's a thing outside rival fans minds. It's quite funny that the two PL titles they win will probably not be looked at favourably. One was in the covid season and this one is when everyone is crap.*
*but Liverpool have been sadly brilliant in both. Only losing one game so far is seriously impressive.
I've seen that mentioned quite a lot but not sure it's a positive. Think a team can benefit from being in a tight title race and on top of their game more than resting players in between CL games. It's quite hard to switch on and off and not get any continuity in, not a big fan of that. Managing minutes is one thing but I wouldn't suddenly want to rest a lot of key players for entire games. Can now rest key players in PL games to focus fully on winning the Champions league.
Guard of honour by Arsenal and Arteta the game after that at Anfield, then. Would be lovely - although I'd also really want to see us clinch the title at Anfield rather than away from home, the fans deserve that after what happened last time with Covid. If the gap stays as it is, I think we could win it at Stamford Bridge.

Wish we had 2 more PL wins that opposition fans looked at unfavourably.
You still have more memorable ones than others. Was lucky to have lived through all 13 Premier League won by Man United, first was special with long wait and the unique scenes in a packed Old Trafford and the open top bus celebrations afterwards. (Liverpool didn't get that due to covid) winning doubles in 1994,96 was special also. 1999 and 1st leg towards winning the treble was iconic. 2008 was great also with later adding the Champion league and really should have won the treble that season again but robbed in the FA Cup.Well yeah, at the end of the day it doesn't matter how you win something, you've won it.
Never a title race in my eyes the moment Man City fell off a cliff.
Arsenal are never never serious contenders a d Evra was absolutely right. There's always a next season. Netflix FC.
Fan forums exist to invent * in order to cope with rivals’ success. We all do it but it’s more obvious when you see your rivals doing it.Don't really think that's a thing outside rival fans minds.
Ajax won 4 titles in a row under Frank de Boer with historically shite opposition. Outside of our fanbase Ajax just won 4 titles in a row.
That may have been Guardiola's issue at Bayern as well. Early certainty that they'd win the title leading to a decline in sharpness, just enough to mess up the final stages of their CL campaigns.I've seen that mentioned quite a lot but not sure it's a positive. We win 20 and we are back on the perch considering our European Cup haul to go along with it. Next season I expect Arsenal , Liverpool, and of course City who will bring in a load of players unless they get relegated which would be ideal. You still have more memorable ones than others. 2011 memorable as was the title United officially knocked Liverpool off their perch 19th titles to 18 so Liverpool have to go again again next season to knock United off their perch. I was in Old Trafford the night United won the 20th title with 4 games to spare against Villa, in hindsight it would be more fitting send off it that title was won on the last day of the season in Fergie time.

That was probably true the first season against Madrid, the second season they were missing half their starters to injury and the third they came out flat in the first half in Madrid then had mythological levels bad luck and choking the rest of the wayThat may have been Guardiola's issue at Bayern as well. Early certainty that they'd win the title leading to a decline in sharpness, just enough to mess up the final stages of their CL campaigns.
Primo WindupUntil Liverpool win the proper treble, they'll still exist just outside of the great teams.
Most of their European Cup wins featured exceptionally favourable passages to finals against Brugges and Roma, and they haven't won a serious title race since the 1980s, if even then.
Given the privileged position the club has received since its inception, you expect multiple titles, but the treble, not a treble, is the outstanding honour missing from their supposed dynasty.
but it didn't, he messed up, especially not having reinforcements on the bench, a lot of foreign managers make this mistakeThe side he fielded in the FA Cup had more than enough to beat bottom of the Championship Plymouth…
Nah he's right. You're doing allright, but you're no Feyenoord.Primo Windup![]()
That's racist.but it didn't, he messed up, especially not having reinforcements on the bench, a lot of foreign managers make this mistake
The perch talk was a clear reference by Ferguson many years ago (when it was 18 v 7 in favour of Liverpool) about the amount of top flight English league titles won. Liverpool sit beside Man United on that perch now with this seasons title won and will have to go again next season to knock United off it.We win 20 and we are back on the perch considering our European Cup haul to go along with it.
Nah he's right. You're doing allright, but you're no Feyenoord.
I’ve stopped caring about what they do. Truth is they’ll likely hit 24 /25 titles and another CL or two before we win another one. And that’s me being optimistic really. With City declined and Arsenal being Arsenal I can see slot winning another couple of titles himself.
Best to focus on ourselves given we are a broken mid table team these days.
Indeed. Bit like winning 6 European Cups.I mean, come on, give the opposition a fighting chance...
Anyway, the above post is accurate.
We know privileged clubs like Liverpool and city can amass trophies, but winning a continental treble is an achievement of higher calibre.
Six European Cups. Seven European Cups. Eight.Indeed. Bit like winning 6 European Cups.
You're being too obvious nowSix European Cups. Seven European Cups. Eight.
Zero Treble.
Zero.

It is obvious, isn't it?You're being too obvious now
Unh?But of course, the covid title was the season after - that was the season mostly played behind closed doors. Always confuses/amuses me how people insist on pretending that is not the case! But I know some fans of certain other teams needs ways to cope a bit![]()
You’re worse than me. ChristIt is obvious, isn't it?
Liverpool haven't achieved a proper treble, and it places an annoying little asterisk beside their fantastic achievements.
They remind me of the Ireland rugby team, who themselves have achieved a great deal in the past ten years.
We see them win how many six nations, grand slams, put record scores on traditional enemies, win in NZ, in South Africa, produce world class players, coaching standards. There isn't anything else they can do, really.
But, because they cannot clear the RWC QF hurdle, (or haven't as yet) it sticks out. A constant albeit valid criticism.
After all, if they are that good....
Same with Liverpool. Haven't achieved the proper treble. We know they can win league titles and European honours.
Can they go that one step further?
When was his contract going to end?I just read an article about Liverpool's financials. Can a Liverpool fan comment on why Klopp and his team received a payoff?
Genuinely surprised about this as it was Klopp who wanted to leave.
As far as I know it was supposed to end at the end of the current season. When was his contract going to end?
Presumably in his contractAs far as I know it was supposed to end at the end of the current season.
But usually you only get a payoff if you are fired, right? Not when you quit voluntarily. Wasn't it Klopp who said he was tired and didn't have enough energy left to keep going and asked to end the contract at the end of last season? Why did that entitle him to a payoff?
It looks like they paid him and his team 9,6 million pounds. How was this justified?
You should try arguing the point, lad, at this stage we know your opinion of the poster. You’re worse than me. Christ

Oh my God. Klopp wanted to advance his career while earning money. You should try arguing the point, lad, at this stage we know your opinion of the poster.
It's irrelevant.
Let's not descend into Trumpian name-calling, just stick to facts and have a good chat.
Klopp joined Liverpool for the advanced career opportunity, the primary motivation being
financial. This is also why he joined red bull's franchise.

Shhh. The PEDs are a secret that only lads on rival forums know about. For me it's a bit sus then he didn't want that lot filming them behind the scenes. Said he would leave if they went ahead with it. They went ahead with it and he left.
It's the PEDs. The payoff was just to keep his and his teams silence on it.
He didn't say it was huge or sensationalise it in any way. You seem to have taken offence to something benign, though I imagine that Liverpool fans loved imagining he was doing the job for the love of the city, on a small dime, cos he's such a romantic of the game. Before going to sign for Red Bull.Oh my God. Klopp wanted to advance his career while earning money.
This is huge.
No he didn’t say it in a sensationalist way. He said it to imply some kind of moral failing. Which is odd.He didn't say it was huge or sensationalise it in any way.
