What is going to change? You’re not winning the title anyway.
Daft thing to say. Why don't we all not bother signing anyone in any window and let City run away with it every season?

The poster I replied to was acting like signing a player was going to change your season. It isn’t.

Don't you just love it when people state their own opinion as a fact?

You've jumped to pretty big conclusion there, boss.

We need a further (attacking) midfielder, and buying one will help our season. That's the long and short of what I've said. Whatever the January premium we pay, I think will be worth it.

Too little too late, I fear. Maybe Klopp was hoping Lallana might do something, but he looks finished.
Yeah I agree. Be nice to see Chamberlain back though. He really found a decent run of games and the formation last year really suited him.

Help you do what? Finish in the top 4 like you will probably do anyway?

I think it is going to make a tangible difference, as it is a clear gap in our squad. Every point counts against this city team.

Really dont think it matters what you do in January, City are just that much better than everyone else.

It's funny when Liverpool fans talk like this, were slated for having a defeatist and not a winning mentality while we're being realistic. Now we are in a good position to challenge city and there's 'no point' cause city is too good. Can't win.

I don't think anyone slates Liverpool for being defeatist, especially not before Christmas when you always believe you'll win the quadruple and the World Cup. The boom-bust cycle usually reaches 'next year, la' around February/March.

It’s not like Fekir is only there for 6 months. He would be a quality addition to future seasons also. If he’s available in January, they may as well go for him.

So because City are looking unbeatable, Liverpool (and Chelsea) shouldn’t strengthen as they won’t catch City and will probably end up in top 4 anyway?

If Fekir signed, he would likely stay for more than six months, too.

Point is he would cost more in January. What do they really gain from paying more for him now?

Yep, they haven't looked that good since the first home leg against Roma in the Champions League. Maybe they have just focused too much on defending.
Ironically enough weather there’s actually anything in it or not it’s been since buvacs been gone. This season especially however our tactics have been different in every game to what they were last season, there’s not been a single one where we’ve really just gone for it.
I’m not sure if we’re just going to continue like this all season or if we’ll revert back at any point.

Yeah, City are going to waltz away with the league, but I'm not sure it follows that everyone else should just blithely toss in the towel.

Utd aren't going to make the top 4, so just give up now and don't strengthen in Jan?

It's an odd stance to take.

If they wait til next year maybe things change, he has a really good end of the season and someone else comes in for him, who knows. Plus having him for 6 months will help embed him into the team which will in turn help him and the team next season. Also the fact you don’t throw in the towel before the half way mark in a league, no matter how good City are.

Haram's viewpoint is basically what anyone would hate to hear from a CEO. Fatalistic and penny pinching. What a dull outlook.

Ha, that actually looks like what we're going to do sadly.

I can't see any reason for Liverpool not to sign Fekir in January, he's not just going there till the end of the season, he'll be there for years. Buying him in January just gives him time to acclimatise to the league, even if they don't win it this year he'll still be valuable to them next season.

Jammiest cnuts in English football?

No fecking question about it.

From the BBC site (before the goal went in).

"Liverpool have more winning goals in stoppage time than any other side in Premier League history.

Just saying..."

So... Yes

I know, it’s disgusting. But they haven’t been remotely impressive.
Their defence has been impressive, their midfield and attack not so much. They've copied City's tactical fouling, anytime Richarlison was on the ball today he was hacked down, they were taking turns getting booked for it near the end. I stand by that I think City will win this league but it'll be close, both teams are doing an excellent job picking up points. Worth remembering that City are still without their best player and are still cruising through games.

Next few weeks will be interesting. City have Watford and Chelsea away. Liverpool have two away and then us at home. Hopefully we can damage their title bid but I doubt it.

Didn't even know Origi was still at Liverpool, how many seasons was he on loan at Wolfsburg?

That was sickening, but they were handed the victory by an absolute clanger.
Not like they got a decision that went their way, thought the ref was great today. Could have easily been swayed on a number of decisions by the crowd.

This makes the Southampton result just 10x worse. We are so shite right now, even when 'Pool didn't play that well, they can still do that.

They've done really well to be just 2 points away from a "once in a generation" City side. City must be feeling some pressure.

Such a shame that we're going to see our two worst enemies fight it out for the title.

Still hoping Liverpool and Tottenham go to EL and get fecked because of Thursday games, and that Chelsea only field reserves in EL so they can compete with City.

Why would either Spurs or Liverpool field their first teams in EL? In fact, missing on CL knockouts should bring about a higher focus on PL.
