Liverpool 2014/15 | WARNING: Contains strong amounts of Scouse nonsense

It was a charity game, couldn't care less why Terry was there, good of him to show up given it was for good causes like Alder Hey Hospital.

Terry, played with Gerrard for years in the national team, and Carragher, fine... Maybe some logic.

But what the hell has Clichy got to do with this game?!?! That guy is cropping up everywhere! Was a bloody pundit for the Classico last week as well!

That makes sense, i thought it was Gerrards testimonial which, looking at some of the players on show made me cringe

Redmen TV combined team. 8 Liverpool players, no Cazorla and one of the Arse players they do pick is Mertesacker.

Haha, I was going to post that myself. It is a pretty laughable selection, to be honest...

Mignolet
Chambers Skrtel Koscielny Moreno
Hendo Ramsey
Sterling Ozil Sanchez
<Insert a striker here>

Giroud on current form, Sturridge on top form.

(Got my RBs mixed up for a second).

Mignolet; Debuchy, Koscielny, Sakho, Gibbs; Henderson, Ramsey, Coutinho; Sterling, Sturridge, Sanchez. Would be my pick. I don't rate Chambers and Gibbs is better defensively than Moreno. Although I love the Ox, he's just too injury prone and Coutinho is having a brilliant season. Giroud might get instead of Sturridge on current form indeed. Feck Ozil.

What no Danny :wenger:;)

 what an absolute joke

Sczcesney

Debuchy - Koscielny - Skrtle - Monreal

Ramsey - Henderson

Sterling - Ozil - Sanchez

Sturridge

Bench: Ox, Giroud, Cazorla, Coutinho, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Ospina

Considering that's from a fan channel aimed at pool supporters I'm not surprised. I think an Arsenal FanTV version would be just as biased, although it would be more realistic at least.

Coutinho and Ozil, Sturridge(considering his injury record) and Chesney(considering Mignolet's recent form) are debatable IMO. Also seems weird that you haven't put Cazorla in the team as he's been one of your best players this season whenever I've seen Arsenal play.

Is there anything more glib than a combined XI debate? Nobody ever agrees and everybody is accused of bias.

Jordan fecking Henderson. The EPL is in a sorry mess if that drongo is classed as a top midfielder

His impact is very consistent. Few have a higher assist count than him in the last two seasons.

I think the debate has moved on from him being regarded as an expensive mistake. He's now a proven top performer.

Mignolet, Can, Toure, Sakho, Manquillo, Allen, Henderson, Moreno, Markovic, Sterling, Coutinho- rumoured line-up based off the bib team theory. Would have thought Lucas and Sturridge were shoe-ins, hopefully that's not the team.

Jordan's been integral to us for nigh on two seasons now, he's not top class by any means, but he's chipped in with valuable goals and assists ( Most from open play of any player since the start of last season) and is an England regular. There is a dearth of top class quality midfielders in the PL, but he's probably in or close to the top 5 in this league.

Manq Toure Sakho Moreno
Hendo Can
Marko Coutinho Allen
Sterling?

*Shrug* Kinda hard to see how we'd play 3-5-2 when we've three selected wingbacks in Manq/Moreno/Markovic (4 if you count Sterling), unless we're doing something really stupid like playing Manquillo in the back three and bringing Can to CM.

Meh, no idea... We'll see. Not too confident about this game.

Allen has been one of our best players in the last couple of games before the international break so I see no reason to leave him out of the team tomorrow. Manquillo is a strange one but it makes sense to play Sterling as a striker if Sturridge doesn't play so the RWB spot needs to be filled. And I'm glad it gives Markovic an opportunity to play higher up the field. Also, it was all over the internet that Sturridge was out for a month but he trained with the team just fine from what I saw on photos? Guess he's not fully fit then.

Mignolet; Can, Toure, Sakho; Manquillo, Allen, Henderson, Moreno; Coutinho, Markovic; Sterling.

Think it's Manquillo and Moreno as the wing-backs with Markovic and Couts in behind Raheem. Regular 3-4-3 i would think. Agreed not confident at all about this one, looks like we're shaping up to be a tad more defensive which is not Rodger's forte, would much rather see us attack and lose than play it cagey and inevitably lose anyway.

Maybe Rodgers tried to play a sly one? Allen has been great, but Lucas offers far more protection to the back four and frees up Henderson to make his trademark lung-bursting runs, whereas against Utd Allen and Henderson looked confused as to who was going and who was staying. Manquillo isn't at all suited to playing wing-back, to play there you need to be able to own your side, create width, push the opposing man back and be able to beat him 1v1, Markovic hasn't done this on a regular basis, but i'd argue he's far more suited and capable of doing so than Manquillo.

Do "youse" think that Brendan will leave Sterling out tomorrow to put him in his place and show him he's not bigger than the club?

It would be a pretty stupid thing to do, in my opinion. If he's fit, he has to play.

Ospina; Debuchy, Koscielny, Sakho, Gibbs; Henderson, Ramsey; Sanchez, Ozil, Coutinho; Giroud.

Based on form, that has to be the team. Sturridge has been gash since returning and Giroud has been in very good form. Also Coutinho has way outperformed Sterling this year. He won their player of the month three times in a row. Ospina over Szczesny/Migs is pretty easy and Gibbs over Moreno isn't hard considering the clusterfeck of a performance the latter had against us.

We need all 3pts tomorrow, anything short of that and it's effectively game over for us. If Raheem Sterling on the pitch gives us the best chance of that, then Raheem Sterling should and will play.

Sturridge hasn't been gash, just not great and nowhere near the standard he set last year. A fit and firing Daniel Sturridge is a level above Giroud. Think Cazorla's been Arsenal's best player so would have him in front of Ozil, otherwise that's an excellent team.
