In the latest episode of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) and Imran (@Annihilate Now!) are here to discuss three 1-1 draws.
The first got us knocked out of the FA Cup, the next puts us in a good position in our Round of 16 Europa League game, and the latest was an actual decent performance against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Gave this a try. Pretty much enjoyed those that you highlighted and didn't think much of the rest. I still really don't get this genre of music really. There's always a few bits and pieces that I enjoy but overall it just feels all a bit 'meh'.
To be fair to ::sonny:: I actually dont mind if people post some good metal stuff, I am open to anything - but that Venom album was just plain crap!
Had another couple of listens to this - to be honest I was a bit disappointed and just found it to be pretty run of the mill alt rock
Now this is far more interesting - I did listen to it without reading the background first and liked a lot of it - obviously the 'story' and his young age makes it stand out even more.
He was an incredibly talented kid, whole thing was just tragic
Listened to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, wasn't blown away, but liked it. I really liked the album Wilco did with Billy Bragg, Mermaid Avenue (album of unfinished Woody Guthrie songs) but never really got into Wilco. For some reason I just find them a bit... bland I guess. Pleasant, but not something I'd think "I really want to listen to".
I've only heard a bit of Mermaid Avenue but I liked it, although I do not normally enjoy Billy Bragg's voice.
I think YHF is a fantastic record though, I love Jim O'Rourke's production on it and it's that which turned me on to Wilco as I previosuly had not really been impressed by them.

Same here, wasn't really a fan of either Wilco or Bragg when a friend recommended it, but it's a lovely album.
Will give YHF a few more listens, I know O'Rourke from his time with Sonic Youth but wasn't a huge fan of his influence/sound there either.
I saw Sonic Youth when he was with them and wasn't very impressed. Didn't much care for the albums he made with them, but I think their music doesn't really need his input as much anyway. His solo records are good though.
Never listened to his solo stuff but heard good things about it. Will have a look, currently still working my way through an awfully large number of albums I've downloaded and never listened to
If you like hip-hop, try listen to Bone Thugs album East 1999 Eternal. It sold 10 million records world wide and has classic hip hop hits like "Tha Crossroads" and "1st of tha month"

I see you put up FSOL Rood, good shout, although a more accessible album may have been Dead Cities? Although it is a much darker album than Lifeforms, depends on what floats your boat really. Could have really fecked with them and suggested ISDN though

I think that's about it:
- One album per day between Monday and Friday.
- If another poster has posted an album, that's it for the day.
- Picture of the album cover is appreciated.
- Small information about the album/band so caftards can see what type of music it is.
- If you have a spotify link to the album please include that
- If you don't please offer an alternative way for others to listen (youtube link to some/all songs, rapidshare link or whatever you think will do)
One album posted every week day. Whoever gets in first after midnight gets to post their album. Then everyone tells you you're musical tastes are rubbish.

You dont need a code and you can join for free - there is a premium version but you dont need to bother with that.
Looking at this page (scroll down) there is a 'Spotify Free' option that requires an invite code to allow unlimited usage and a radio mode:

I first heard Diz Gibran when he featured on Jay Stay Paid, the last album from the late, legendary Hip Hop producer J Dilla;
I did a bit of digging and came across this mixtape featuring powerful, but most importantly, real lyrics throughout; to quote him "On the music side, I had a good friend of mine who passed on a few years ago named Kelly, and he told me to be myself and don't lose sight of being true to myself. So when I started making music, I decided I would always make music that is accurate, that my family and friends can vouch for it and say that's really Khalil."
The record also offers really fresh production from another young man Moonshine, with some excellent samples, strings and beats. Diz Gibran has now appeared on the Dilla album, but has also performed with the likes of Mos Def, Busta Rhymes, The Game and Clipse, so I can't see it being long before he makes a real name for himself. I thought it would be good to post the mixtape to gain a little recognition on here for an underground artist on his way up. Stand-out track for me is 'City Lights', but there really isn't much of a weak point on the whole record.

My man back in the day named himself the God Diz (son was a 5 Percenter) but I’m pretty sure this isn’t the same man. Matter of fact, I’m damn sure. This Diz is straight out of LA, but I’ll be damned if he doesn’t have a early ’90s NYC style and music. Blame it on his producer, Moonshine who’s sound is reminiscent of a young and hungry DJ Premier. This mixtape’s been sitting on my lap for a hot second, but when I threw it in it turned out to be one of the best decisions I made in weeks. Diz is that nucca!
Don’t be fooled by son’s young sounding voice, dude’s lyrical game is as crazy as Amy Winehouse on one of her drug binges. His apologetic “The Hardest Word” got him asking for forgiveness to the peoples he let down in his life while on “Just Me” he went in lyrically saying, “Ain’t nothing wrong with wanting the best things/we play the game right, you can call us the Chess kings/I watch people with less means make it work/come from last place to win the race and take the perks/so since my date of birth it’s been her for me to grab/that’s why I give it all that I have/for the future, yesterday is all in the past.” And that’s barely the tip of the iceberg of what this kid is jotting down on his pad. His pad is riddled with blood, sweat and tears. His notebook is like a slut’s Kotex or something.
Not to mention the help he got behind the boards. The samples that his producer, Moonshine used to craft these soulful melodic and hypnotic productions that’ll f*ck with your conscious and touch your emotions were damn near biblical. Joints like “Impossible” where a guitar string is constantly plucked and the drums on “Once Again” made me wanna put these sounds on a spoon, throw a lighter under it and just stick it in my veins!! And the way those horns were arranged on “Exactly” was just mouth watering. Let the Moon shine cause homie is next!
The best way I can describe this mixtape is to say that if cavemen had this in the B.C. ages, they wouldn’t need to smash to rocks together to get fire. Just rub this joint against wood and voila. Diz didn’t waste one bar or one rhyme on mediocrity. I’m a Brooklyn nucca to the heart, but it really seems like the West Coast MCs are really bringing back that true to life hip-hop sound. And when I say true to life I mean capturing the essence and raw emotion of inner city men and women. Diz and Moonshine took it to the next level and just brought poetry in a crack pipe. And all I can really say at the end of the day is that Diz is what it is.-The Infamous
