Yes I agree the signings we're making are risky but aren't all signings?Yeah I agree, my initial point was just that ETH joined Ajax, made a couple of signings from his former clubs that didn't pan out. It's possible that Martinez, Antony, Malacia, Timber etc. might be those signings for us and they might not come off.
In an ideal world, the club's scouting system will have targets and the signings are not just based off of what the manager says.
I also have no doubt he'll be successful here.
Am sure if we hadn't gone for his signings we would have targeted players like Kalvin Philips, Pau Torres possibly Lewandoski in attack, at least in this scenario we can see the coherent ideas he plans on executing with this players.
Plus aside De Jong I don't see any other signing we're making as a guaranteed starter.
Martinez would have to compete with the likes of Maguire, Varane, and Lindelof which shouldn't be straight forward in my opinion, Malacia with Shaw, Eriksen with Bruno and Antony if we go back for him would compete with Sancho and Rashford for a wing spot, I'm relaxed about I because I feel we have good players already the manager can work with and get up to speed with his ideas.
