Our most important player for me. He’s fecking brilliant. With him and Mainoo in the team we begin to be able to control games.

He makes such a difference. His left-footedness opens up different angles and because he's comfortable on the ball we can spring counters quicker.

Yes, he's a defender first and foremost, but he adds a lot to us in possession.

We missed him so much, it's so good to see him playing passes between the lines and also winning the ball so aggressively.

Im confident it’s not what we think. He felt kind of ok and the physios let him return to the pitch.
He came out walking fine. Please lord.
This guy is CRUCIAL in our team.

Hopefully lots of treatment and he'll be good to go in a week or so. The fact he wasn't stretchered off is positive it didn't look that bad.

We're so much better with him in our team.

I was thinking during the game how he looks like the real Martinez is back, rather than the clearly off it one at the start of the season. And then that freak injury happens. We can’t have nice things.

A lot of his injuries come out of nowhere, it’s very concerning. Such a class player but I hope we haven’t signed a terribly injury prone player.

Pure class. What a warrior and technical ability, leadership, vision and agression. Hope he isn't injured because we badly need him.

MOTM for me. Outstanding player. Along with Mainoo and Casemiro he gives us control.

Hopefully he is fine. He makes such a difference to the team. Missing him the first half of the season has had a major impact on the season.

I love the guy, but I'm concerned with the injuries. Varane + Martinez really isn't a viable long-term partnership. Too many injuries between the two of them.

I hope that this one isn't serious, but I have a feeling it will be.

Brilliant. Even if scans are negative it’s probably best to keep him out for a match or two.

A bit of a worry. Those innocuous knee injuries can be the worst, even if the player can move relatively ok and doesn't look in extreme discomfort.

I'm just hoping that his bodyshape meant it was more of a bit of an overextension, rather than those horrible, twisting motions that generally do the ACL in.

Would probably be more likely to be PCL or LCL? given that talentless lump fell on the back of his calf

I think it’s an occupational hazard with the style of play he has. He’s very aggressive and he does that full body planted shepherding out move multiple times a game which can obviously lead to what happened if anyone puts external weight on him. Someone like Bruno never gets those sort of injuries because he’s quite light on his feet and never really fully plants himself.

It is good to have the likes of Casemiro, Shaw, Maguire and Varane back in the team but Martinez is critical to our way of playing. As far as I'm concerned we simply cannot afford to have him out.
He's the only one capable of playing that ball in midfield that progresses our play.
Really hope he's okay.

Yeah it was noticeable at the start of the season that he just wasn't bringing the ball out from the back and his passing was good but safe and limited. Something was clearly up.

Such a good player. Hope he's ok.

The only world class player we have at the moment. We are finished again if he is out for this season.
