Mind that time City thought they were getting Messi
Ouch...
If he just released a statement completely ignoring what he’s said and just goes “We are delighted Lionel will be staying this season as we continue to fight for titles” it would be hilariousCome on Bartomeu, don't take this lying down. Hit back at Messi
For 24 hours a bunch here thought we would get him.Mind that time City thought they were getting Messi

Don’t think City wanted to pay 100m for him. It was either a free transfer or no transfer.Messi will just take it easy this season, wont be at his best the coming season with no worries and collect his big wage then most probs has agreement with city next season for free, Barcelona are the ones worse off here so at end of day he will go for free next summer to City. Barcelona will continue to pay that big wage for someone that doesn't want to be there.
Surely there must be some Messi tattoos out there on City fans by now..Bluemoon meltdown done deal. Thread bump imminent. Here we go
like fight it more? not just give after like 12 days?....he had a strong case with Covid extending the season past his release clause..which would have ultimately ended in ~100M agreement to make all parties "happy". Barcelona will lose him for nothing next year, right? with that clause coming back at the end of each season, correct? or have I misunderstood that clause? He can only leave if someone pays $700million, what other choice does he have?

I knew it was just posturing. He can't take that challenge, cant take the risk to be exposed.
Barcelona opting for an ugly PR war against their GOAT might be the strangest decision in football I can remember
A lot of people especially Barca fans making Barca out to be the villain and Messi an angel, not forgetting that this was the club that gave Messi a life, an opportunity and made him who he is today. When he was 10 and diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency, no club took a chance on him except Barca. It was Barca who paid for his treatment and gave him a chance and of course the rest is history.
I’d have liked that too in a wayI actually wanted City to spend 700m on Messi. Or spend a shit load on wages for him as well.
