Lionel Messi transfer rumors

It's got to be tempting going to PSG or China to get all those crazy money. He could probably earn in a year what he earned his entire career.

I feel sorry he'll never play for us. Some players are just never meant to come here, such as Ronaldinho, Kaka, Zidane and Ronaldo (fat).
 
Would love if the midget leaves Barcelona but the fecker won't leave. He knows that he can get infinite money from the Barça board. Without him, FCB would finish 4th in la liga
 
I see no reason for him to leave. He seems comfortable there and he's still contributing Messi type numbers.

Messi already has a net worth of £170m. He doesn't need the money so a move abroad would be fairly pointless imo.

That reasoning never works with millionaires, specially athletes which will want to maximize their profit before retirement.

He can easily maximize profit by doing more advertising work and still remain at the club he loves. He's not in the mercenary category as the likes of Xavi, Rivaldo et al where they have to play their final year or two in shit leagues because the tap is about to be turned off at retirement. Messi's brand will live on and he will continue to make massive bank through adverts for decades.

Needless to say, I doubt they would finish 4th or 5th if Messi contributed 50-60 goals. A likelier scenario is they would win the league by about 20 points or so.

If there's even any possibility of City getting Messi, you can bet that they would pay him whatever amount he asks. Their whole footballing club is now based off being Barca wannabe so getting Messi would "complete" their project.

The amount he makes outside football is more than on the pitch. It's better for him to be the Tom Brady type if money is getting tight.

I reckon if he wants to make the move to a new league he'd either join City/Pep or PSG.
 
Surely everyone and their gran will try sign him regardless of wages. If PSG sign him it would be fecking hilarious after all the drama this season.

Tbh i think there is absolutely 0.000000000000000000000000001% chance that he leaves Barca and that's probably being generous you can't even sign him on FIFA career mode. If he leaves when his contract is up I can only see him joining Pep at city so I'm hoping He stays at Barcelona.
 
Tbh he comes across as a money hungry whore. He's constantly looking for a new deal every 2 years and it was rumoured he turned down Barcelona's opening offer in the summer. For someone who ''loves'' Barcelona and will never probably leave why does he keep trying to squeeze more money out of them?

Similar to Ronaldo and Rooney but we all know they're all about the money whereas Messi comes across as loyal as they come.

Nah. Messi is loyal, but he still wants to get paid. Same as Ronaldo. Don't think one is more greedy than the other tbh. Both have or had tax problems, but try to get more money with each deal they sign and so on.
 
If Barca are not good enough this season, he may jump the ship. He'll go to a team that may help him to compete with Ronnie for trophies.

Maybe but that may not be enough if it means that the Ballon d'Ors are going to Ronaldo because Madrid are the best. Messi needs a platform that will help him stop Ronaldo from winning the big trophies.
 
Murmurings here (Barcelona) are that Messi wants big signings, or promises of such, before committing himself to a new contract.

Having said that, he is the media darling and they may just be covering up the fact that he is a money whore.
