Lionel Messi | PSG Watch

2 Ronaldo fanboys so fecking bitter that they are shitting bitterness, pissing bitterness and sweating bitterness. Unnecessary comments absolutely reflect their bitterness.

One of them is a Lewandowski fanboy, the second one.

Probably mad that Messi won Balloon D'Or over Robert in 2021, but i guess playing in Bundesliga doesn't hold any value for Balloon, as meh as Ligue 1.
And when Messi and Ronaldo had a mediocre season, Benzema had a magnificent season and wins it over Lewandowski.

Unlucky

He was shite last season. Looked sluggish and easy to stop.

Any half decent playmaker would get bucketloads of assists with Mbappe in that league. Mbappe increases the margin for error allowed.

He was shit goal scoring wise (and now he isn’t), but I suppose that’s all Ronaldo fanboys look at.
They can’t comprehens that he still was a good playmaker and assister. Any “half decent playmaker”? Then why hasn’t any other PSG player accomplished the amount of assists in a season that Messi had last season if it’s so easy? Why hasn’t any other player with Mbappe had as high assist/match ratio in league as Messi did last season? Because Messi had 14 assists and the best assist/match ratio in the league in 2021/2022.

Now that Messi is back in BOTH goalscoring and assist form, Ronaldo fanboys cry because they know the supposed “King” and his one penalty against the mighty Sheriff can’t hold a candle to what Messi has done this season stat wise in all competitions for club and for club and country combined.

The difference with Messi is that when Messi declined physically, he reivented himself and became more as a playmaker; he did it so well, like the best playmaker in the world. His talent, technical flexibility and game intelligence allow him to do that.
But for Ronaldo it's impossible. He is only a finisher; and can't excell at other roles. He isn't good at playing in tight spaces or at playmaking. His finishing and off-the-ball movement declined immensely too. Actually, he should be seen as a problem for United (and Portugal) especially with his egocentric mentality and his only focus on his own stats above the collective play and the team's interest.
This strong squad of Portugal is under-achieving and they clearly deserve better as a team; when you see the names.
Really amusing to see bitter Ronaldo fans trying to slag Messi when he’s better than their boy Ronaldo.

It's nice to see him doing well in what may be his last season. If he can translate this firm to the cl knockouts and the WC, he can retire in style even if he doesn't win those.

I think Messi will head to Argentina after this season. Also think he will retire from international football. Sad to see a former GOAT’s career fizzle out in a poor league. Ajaccio, Clermont, Angers, Brest, Troyes, Strasbourg :lol::lol:
I guess he will want yo ho all out in the CL.

I’m a ManUtd fan. Ronaldo plays for us. Messi doesn’t…….
Yea the same Ronaldo who disrespected us TWICE. Looked at United as a stepping stone and now thinks
Typical simpleton logic and reasoning(not unexpected though).

"Has dared to mention that Messi was poor last season so must be a Ronaldo fan."

Just so you know: couldn't care less about Ronaldo either and he's washed up too.

You know what is extremely unnecessary? The cute little attempts to brainwash people by presenting Messi's last season as a success. There were jokes about Fred in the PL outscoring Messi in the Ligue 1 for most of the season FFS. He was embarassing last season. As are the people trying to depict last season as a success in any shape or form. Stop lying to yourself.
Ten on ten BS comment. No one said last season was a success, not by any measure. And no one says he should win the ballond'or based on ligue 1 performances alone in the same fashion as no one should win it based on bundesliga performances alone.

Rather than trying to police what I should or shouldn't post for the umpteenth time, you can simply choose not to read if you don't want to, or press the ignore button. (I suggest the latter since your last 4 or so replies to me have been tangential and I'm not really interested in your take on my posts. It serves us both better that way).

As far as the previous post goes, there was a graphic about the number of goals contributions since 2016 and I posted it with an updated cumulative count. As well as another discussion with another poster.

I don't remember having any long history of trying to police your posts(I barely remember us having almost any exchanges in general at all), but for sure I will just ignore these particular updates.

I'm no fan boy of Ronaldo's but don't forget he's almost 2.5 years older than Messi.
At Messi's age, Ronaldo was still scoring at almost a 1 goal per game ratio in Serie A.
Let's see we're the reinvented Messi is at near 38 years years old.

I don't normally weight in on these things. But remember that Ronaldo is 2 - 2 1/2 years older than Messi. It's important at this stage. Both have set a new standard by continuing with the quality they did right into their mid 30s. But 37? 38? That's time to retire.

I see someone else has made that point above. How sad that people want to compare them and try and rubbish one or the other. They don't know who you are, people! Your defence of them means nothing, their success doesn't reflect on you as a person!

Of course it does. You don't like others commenting on your posts, but you are always free to post gems like this yourself
Cry harder:lol::lol::lol:

I mean, whatever else people want to say, PSG is a lot of fun to watch, for good and for bad.

Try and check my post history in this and the Messi vs Ronaldo thread. And I've rarely had exchanges at all with that poster in my time on here. The idea I've been policing his speech for the umpteenth time is something he's made up or he's confusing me with someone else.

I have a feeling this @Gehrman guy is a fanboy of some other footballer (not Cristiano) and tries to put down whatever Messi does. Keeps him busy though hopefully for a few more years.

Check my post history. I just dont see the need for bringing up Messi's all-time goaland assist record everytime he gets a goal or an assist. He's not done yet. Will it be updated everytime? It's like people going Siiiu whenever Ronnie scores a goal. It gets a bit lame.

Not really sure who he's a fan of and I don't really care. The last 4 times he's tagged me have been strange. Nothing at all relevant or contributory to the topic. If it bothers him reading anything positive about Messi (for whatever reason), he can simply press the ignore button or not read this thread.

.

I'm not really sure why there is this Messi fanboy inquisition. I'm a Messi fan, not a Messi Fanatic. I've been on this forum for 3 years. If I've been more negative towards Messi since he moved to PSG, its probably because his last season was his worst ever. And I don't have a long history of policing your posts, that's something you made up or you are confusing me with someone else.

Buddy, again, I'm not really interested. You can be a fan of whomever you like and if you claim you're a Messi fan, that's great. Multiple people seem to think that your posting history indicates otherwise; I genuinely don't care.

I don't think highly of your posts, nor do I care enough to constantly tag you for risible reasons. If my posts aren't your cup of tea, press the ignore button. You're wasting both of our time constantly tagging me. Let this be the last post, and let's move on.

I'm not constantly tagging you buddy. I honestly don't know where you got that idea from. I checked my post history in this thread, and we've had really few exchanges whatsoever. But post what you like about Messi and I won't respond.

your feeling is shyte then. I have an excellent memory and he's certainly a Messi fan.

Can you do anything else?! Actually, sorry, you do also post about Ronaldo. Not sure what you're going to do when Messi retires. Do you think you'll transfer your obsession to someone else or is he your one and only?

And tbh from Gehrman's posts i would say he's a Messi fan, just a balanced one that doesn't obsessively fancy everything he does.

Guess who's back to derail the thread with insults again? For the last time, it's a Messi thread. Take your tears somewhere else.

I'll take this to mean that he is your one and only then. Hoping he'll retire soon and you'll transfer your obsession to Djokovic in the tennis or something.

You seem more obsessed with him than anyone given how hysterical you get everytime someone says something positive about him. But that's neither here nor there.

This is a thread about Messi and while watching your tears is funny, it's irrelevant to Messi.

I can remember Messi saying that Zidane did the right thing to retire while on top. I'm glad that Messi has improved on his form since last year. I'm hoping he has a strong WC even though he's 35. He doesn't have to win it, it's too much to ask considering his team and his age. Of course there is the UCL as well, but I think City are strong favourites now. Of course he might trigger his extension for another year. I don't want see him retire, but it would be more graceful to see him retire on the form he's currently on rather than keep playing until he's a non-entity in European football at least. Of course he knows the milage of his body better than anyone else.

Considering his team? I don't see any team other than brazil beating this argentina team at the moment.

At the moment...good, because the WC is one month away.

Argentina looked much better than this in 2002 and 2006, and they were far from winning it.

Just because they beat Italy doesn't mean they are gonna beat the rest of european teams, who are going to the WC, Football isn't 1+1 = 2.

Italy? I don't remember talking about that.

In 2002 they looked better for sure, but I don't think the same about 2006. I said at the moment because that's exactly what happened in 2002, they didn't get to the world cup in shape. They were really unlucky though, especially against Sweden.

Now this team has something both those teams didn't have: they have won something after 28 years and there's a different enviroment in the NT. And I think that will play a huge role in Qatar.
