Let's all laugh at PSG

Beckham doesn't even have "legend" status at United but 10 appearances is what it took to make their hall of fame?

A "Legend" in my opinion is a function of many things, not just appearances or goals.

Take into account that PSG is a relatively young club and I don't consider it that absurd that he would be included in their Hall of Fame.

Trust me. Very absurd unless we rename the concept ' Hall of Famous PSG players'. In this case, we have to need the boy below :drool::drool:

He just played only one game for PSG so I think he should replace Beckham in the Hall of Fame

Yes he does. 400 games, was integral in winning 6 PL titles and a CL, a member of the class of '92. One of the biggest players in the club history and easily cracks the top 10.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but rubbishing the play of one team clearly diminishes the efforts of the other

PSG played well, in both legs - they earned every goal they scored. They were perhaps not ideally set up tactically in the return leg but many coaches would have done a lot to protect that 1st leg lead and avoid being overrun by Barcelona - so accusations they were cowardly is rich considering had they opened up and gotten run over the criticism would've been that they were naive. So, yeah, hypocrites are Bountiful when trying to discredit a unique result

As actual Professional footballers pointed out in most post match analyses, it was remarkable the sustained intense high pressure by Barcelona for the majority of the match - something many of them had never witnessed. But yeah, PSG bottled it

Agree that it's no small feat by barca, but 4 goals lead is still considered a bottle job and rightly so

Lol nah, I'm dead serious, to me beckham is second tier

In case you're looking for support here, I'm with you.

Beckham was never as good a footballer as his name and fame suggests. Good player, don't get me wrong, but not on the same level as the top tier United legends.

Possibly most overrated team in Europe. Period. We are more likely to win CL again before they ever do - and that feels a long way off

Obligatory bump. Don't see the need for new thread as this is less direct at their current result.

Moura hattrick hero fired Tottenham of all team into CL final, while PSG spent shitload on new toy failing at early KO stage of CL.

Obligation bump? So they sold a player that they didn’t need. Would you take Moura over Mbappe or Neymar?

Moura has been sold because of the Financial Fair Play I think.

Now, it was not a pleasure cruise at Tottenham for him I think and he was right to leave PSG because he was going in full circles at all levels.

Glad for him.

If you do a research on Redcafe, I have repeated a lot of times it was a steal to take him at a limited cost in the crazy current market

Obligatory, still waiting.

The same. It was not the best Chelsea in its history which won the Champions League, I expect the same for PSG, no worries

Nothing personal, and won't say I disagree with the point being made.

Just banter. Cheers.

Beckham was never as good a footballer as his name and fame suggests. Good player, don't get me wrong, but not on the same level as the top tier United legends.

394 club appearances, 85 goals, 98 assists, 45% of matches played he was directly involved in a goal. As a right sided midfielder in a time before wingers became inside forward/strikers.

77 CL appearances, 14 goals, 27 assists, 53% of matches played he was directly involved in a goal.

He played 7 seasons at the club and got the most assists in the league in 3 of them seasons. He is 9th all time in PL assists and has the least appearances of anyone in the top 10. Only Fabregas has a better assist per game ratio than Beckham in PL history. Bergkamp and David Silva have an equal assist per game ratio. Beckham was not an attacking midfielder either like the other 3, Bergkamp was close to being a Striker as well.

From 1998 to 2002 he was arguably the best player for Man United, it would be difficult to name even 2 or 3 players that you could put up a good argument for as being better in that period.

Aside from arguably the best crossing ability of all time and GOAT level dead ball ability, he had stamina and work rate up there with the very best. He was also very good at tracking back and defending. In todays game he would be an amazing defensive winger without even including his attacking side of the game.

If Beckham stayed his whole career at United, in my opinion he would be seen as a bigger legend than Scholes and possibly even Giggs. Beckham was godlike for Man United and the club would never have won the treble if not for him (Obviously would never have won it without other players, but Beckham had the most influence that season).

Even ignoring all of the above, them 2 crosses from corners in the CL final to wrap up the treble would make him a club legend.

If Becks is not a United legend then no one else is apart from Best, Charlton and Law.
A small minority of United fans are blinded by his off field fame but the vast majority agrees that he was such an integral part of our successes over so many years.
He also had the rare ability to constantly perform well regardless of the level of opposition we were facing.

Beckham is the sole reason why a lot of people started following United. From a marketing standpoint he was our Messi in the new era.

Cesc scored the winner. Forgot he was there

They've been broken since the United game 2 years ago
