Let's all laugh at PSG

So after years of star attackers and good defenders let down by a midfield of witch doctors praying to keep Verratti's body healthy (and usually failing), they now have good defenders and a great midfield and are let down by lack of star attackers
It’s incredibly funny how a team with this much money invested so much and never managed to field a coherent and functional top team.

Forgot about the new format - but yeah agree on GK, never got the Donnarumma hype.

He's a great shot-stopper, and his deficiencies with the ball aren't big enough to cause Italy and PSG a huge problem on international level and in the French League (although he shouldn't start for Italy over Vicario IMO who is a much better all round package). I don't see them winning the CL with him, though, unless they don't want to control possession and become a cup competition team like Dortmund last season. I don't see Enrique ever leaning towards that, though.

This is the PSG and not the United thread. (Sorry, I had to.)

Ironically, the most functional team they had was one of the first iterations under QSI, that Blanc managed. That was a genuinely very good team that should've achieved more at European level. They then went down the crazy road of massive signings and neglecting some key areas of the team, and now seem a bit more reasonable - will be interesting to see how it pans out. Yesterday was genuinely a poor game by them, but I'm not sure it's a reflection of their current level.

The first iterations just weren't good enough, consistently crumbled at the first real hurdle. Then they went the Zidanes y Pavones route and got done by the same issues that fecked the blueprint: injuries, tactical issues and egoes. This is basically year zero for them, so their being incomplete(and young) is ok, except they had an agreement with Osimhen and never tried to sign him, which doesn't make any sense whatsoever when they're starting Lee Kang In as a false 9 in a CL game...

The team that lost 6-1 to Barca, Silva + Marquinhos in defense, Matuidi + Verrati in midfield with Cavani + Di Maria in attack, was quite good but they tried to get away by going cheap on a keeper and it ultimately cost them.

Champions League Group Stage:

3. Monaco
4. Brest

14. Lille

25. PSG

They're undefeated in the Ligue 1 McDonald's though, so they've got that going for them.

They're shite, they're a rich man's us in a weak league.

If they played in the Premier League they wouldn't win it even with their best team of the last 14 years.

At their peak they were genuinely good though when it was Veratti, Motta in midfield and Cavani,Ibra up front

Those players all have some strength of character though. They’ve been weak since that core disbanded
Silva and Marquinios at the back too with Di Maria, Lavezzi, Pastore, Lucas Moura out side
They played some lovely stuff in Europe it's shocking they never made it past the quarters

They were a really fun team to watch up until the Mbappe/Neymar era. They were still a decent watch but were way more disjointed.
