Legend or Bellend

Good thread

Mark Hughes Legend
Eric Cantona Legend
Gabriel Heinze Bellend
Patrice Evra Legend
Ryan Giggs Legend if you can seperate the man from the player
Fabian Barthez Bellend (not really though, more of a clown)
Peter Schmeichel Legend
David Beckham Legend
Cristiano Ronaldo Bellend although feels entirely hypocritical after what I just said about Giggs
Wayne Rooney Legend
William Prunier Bellend
Gary Neville Legend
Rio Ferdinand Legend
Roy Keane Legend

We had a quickfire pop quiz at my gaffe yesterday, Legend or Bellend. Without a big explanation just insert one of these 2 words to the following non current Utd players, all in jest of course and no offense intended (looking at you Gabby). Also no grey area, there can be only one. Most are obvious but a few contentious ones.

Mark Hughes
Eric Cantona
Gabriel Heinze
Patrice Evra
Ryan Giggs
Fabian Barthez
Peter Schmeichel
David Beckham
Cristiano Ronaldo
Wayne Rooney
William Prunier
Gary Neville
Rio Ferdinand
Roy Keane
William Prunier? Who he?

Mark Hughes - Bellend/Legend
Eric Cantona - The King and Legend
Gabriel Heinze - Bellend
Patrice Evra - Weirdo but a Legend
Ryan Giggs - Disgusting human but Legend
Fabian Barthez - Means nothing to me
Peter Schmeichel - Bellend/Legend
David Beckham - Legend
Cristiano Ronaldo - Bellend
Wayne Rooney - Legend
William Prunier - Not worthy of a comment
Gary Neville - Legend
Rio Ferdinand - Legend
Roy Keane - Legend

As you don't want 'grey' answers, apart form the WTF Prunier ( I remember the name but nothing else without wiki's help) they are all legends on the pitch in general with grey patches here and there.

I guess we should have him down as a 'semi'

Dude, you need to know about the Prunster. I just have him there mainly for a WTF effect but also I think Prunier deserves a mention as part of club history, lesson beginneth below;

William Prunier- Sixth Worst Player in Utd history
Thank you for enlightening me !
I had just searched him - love the fact that he’s flagged as sixth worst…
And now I am equipped for weirdest Utd pub quiz

Fair dues, but you are the first to give old Gabby a legend tag

I loved Heinze during his time at Utd. Martinez reminds me of him with his combative attitude.
He won the league during his time with us and was our player of the season.
Utd signed Evra to replace Heinze when he was out having injured his acl. Even when he recovered he was always going to be behind the younger Evra in the pecking order and he was too young and too good to be a fixture on the bench. Unlike others in more recent times he wasn’t going to be happy taking a wage and not playing.
At the end of the day he didn’t go to Liverpool, he went to Madrid where he also won the league so he’s definitely closer to a Legend than a bellend for me.

I guess we should have him down as a 'semi' but thats against my own rule
That does seem fitting

He's really difficult to place as he was my favourite player all those years he played, but he's clearly a twat. So bellend is the natural label for him, but if he's not a legend then it's hard to justify anyone as a legend. So if forced to then I'd say: "that bellend is a Legend"

Mark Hughes - L
Eric Cantona - L
Gabriel Heinze - bell end

Mark Hughes Bellend
Eric Cantona Legend
Gabriel Heinze Bellend
Patrice Evra Legend
Ryan Giggs Legend
Fabian Barthez Legend in his own lunchtime
Peter Schmeichel Legend
David Beckham Legend
Cristiano Ronaldo Bellend
Wayne Rooney Legend
William Prunier Legend
Gary Neville Legend
Rio Ferdinand Legend
Roy Keane Legend

Says a lot that Ronaldo has managed to get ahead of Giggsy into the bellend category, BOAT

There's no way Mark Hughes isn't a legend. I can only assume its the younger people saying he isn't.
His volley against Oldham is still one of my favourite goals, only a kid then but can remember going wild when he scored that.

he may have come across as bitter as a manager but winners will tend to do that

Sticking to the football side only:

Hein: bellend
ronaldo: bellend
Barthez: neither
Pruier: neither

rest are legends.

There are a lot of great players on this list but the bar for being United legend (not real Madrid or France legend who also played for us but United one) has to be very high and in my opinion only Cantona, and probably Rooney live up to that.

Calling people "bellend" is not ok, and not sure why it is even allowed here.

Mark Hughes - neither
Eric Cantona - legend
Gabriel Heinze - neither
Patrice Evra - neither
Ryan Giggs - neither
Fabian Barthez - neither
Peter Schmeichel - neither
David Beckham - neither
Cristiano Ronaldo - neither
Wayne Rooney - legend
William Prunier - neither
Gary Neville - neither
Rio Ferdinand - neither
Roy Keane - neither

Legends:

Mark Hughes
Eric Cantona
Gabriel Heinze
Patrice Evra
Ryan Giggs
Peter Schmeichel
David Beckham
Cristiano Ronaldo
Wayne Rooney
Gary Neville
Rio Ferdinand
Roy Keane

Bellends:

Fabian Barthez
William Prunier

There are people who fall into both categories, for example:

Legend:
Gary Neville when he doesn't try to be unbiased
Scholes the silent midfield maestro
Ronaldo

Bellend:
Gary Neville when he tries hard to be unbiased
Scholes when he sucks on a toe or imitating Michael Owen level of commentary
Ronaldo

Considering legends can be bellends and we all know who are legends in that list I'll change it to bellend / not bellend

Mark Hughes - Bellend
Eric Cantona - Not bellend

Patrice Evra - Not bellend

Fa cup last minute? I was only a kid I remember going mad.

my favorite sparky moment too, i made a thread here a while back celebrating this goal.

I loved Heinze during his time at Utd. Martinez reminds me of him with his combative attitude.

Utd signed Evra to replace Heinze when he was out having injured his acl. very well put points and totally true, i personally just cant get over him agitating to go to Liverpool though

With the exception of Cantona and Evra, a lot of this lot were legends on the field for United, but if we face it, are bellends off it.
