Sorry didn't even notice that, I read it as "move two managers to a box of your choosing" which I'm sure is what EAP meant anyway.

Yeah he probably should have just left it at "one of the first two picks must be gambled" (ignoring dropped players of course), because as it is Raees/Invictus and the Musketeers are gambling their 3rd picks while everyone else is potentially losing one of their first 2 (not that a early pick necessarily means a better player). No big deal I guess

Because the free picks got scrapped. EAP decided that it would be unfair to bottom of the draft if he had just one first round of free picks etc and scrapped it completely. We started with the roll of the dice and all our first picks were our first rolls of the dice. Could have still kept that comrade box I think although someone who landed in the rank tank from the off (harms did I think) would be screwed for good finding players who 'played WITH him in the NT' not even the players who played for the same NT but whenever.

Just think of it like this dude - you have to reach 10 and 5 people pick numbers less than 10 say 1,2,3,4,5 and now the dealer chooses his number and adds to their choices so if it's 5 they all end up with 6,7,8,9,10 and the last one wins, simple.
 
Some people have picked the same cards so it wouldn't be possible to go from the remaining. Just 1 random card will work perfectly well.

Nah if we're going for realistically it's either 1 pack of cards with 16 participants - that means each manager has to pick 2 cards and the last card has to be from those that are left - in this case all people participate in one hand.

Since we have repeating cards it has to be 1 card for each manager randomized - like playing against a dealer.

so IMO if we're going realistic - that's 16 shuffles for the 16 managers and one card each.

No offense but can we just stick to what the mod has decided for once?

We are 16 here along with some 'shadow' people and all have different preferences, priorities and opinions and will never agree completely on anything. The only way to make this draft run smoothly is to let the man who is making the rules do just that and unless it is something highly problematic. he has been pretty hard working on this and made things as clear and transparent as possible and now again he has clarified something which should be the end of it. I've voiced this time and again that we need to abide by what has been decided instead of creating confusions time and again by getting our own wishes into the way. Otherwise every single time he tries to do something new it will take ages and voting and revoting and what not and frustrating delays like last time. This isn't a democracy and in my experience of running such drafts where new things are being tried and people may have their own interpretations on everything - the mod's say is final. Period. It may look harsh at the time but in the long term that's the only way to make things work properly and consistently.
 
I agree with Aldo. Make a note in the "next draft idea thread" in the end with all the concerns one had about this one for future reference and just try to let the admins do their things. The sheep, relax and drop boxes already have me in half a coma waiting for the next move so lets just try to keep it running smoothly.

I can't do much if people play it safe as it minimizes chances of both winning and losing. It's like going to a roulette table and betting even on both reds and blacks. You don't lose, but you don't win either. All I can say is the win chances of whoever choosing near 11 is quite minimal.

Yeah I fully understand was just obvious that people would go that way as they are less likely to lose and end up in box 3. It wasn't a complaint about yourself.

Agree. I didn't see any rule by Edgar on that. Seems logical to me that anyone going for a 10 then has less 10s in the deck. Otherwise we may just pick any random number as "the sum of two cards".

One card only really changes the odds btw as a winning card for most will just mean going into a random draw.

I always thought of it as basically a random draw anyway, the 'Blackjack' part of it is just to do with the 'theme' of the draft. We're really just picking numbers.
