Thought you'd like it. Previously awards were designed as a prize, but this time it'll to be used as a weapon against fellow draft managers. Let's see how many winners have the guts and ruthless attitude to use them.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I love it. That's the sort of power card I was going on about, not just the player stealing but being able to warp things by demanding rerolls and stuff.
It's great! My issue is purely down to how I reconcile it with shadowing (remember, I'm taking this as a test). Different from the roulette, where I could choose an empty box, here it is very likely that for some of the awards you will need to randomise it (and I wouldn't be randomised) so I have to go with whatever MJJ does and what happens to him. Virtually taking a player is easy, but what if someone takes Garrincha from him? I don't have him. I guess I can lose the same round player alright.
The other awards are harder as I can't REALLY send anyone to Box 13, so there's nothing for me to gain there (I only lose if it's done to MJJ, no upside) and I can't request rerolls either (but am exposed to them, inc. shit reroll decisions that may result from MJJ having a different agenda).
I'm just thinking out loud here. I suppose it all winds up working if this were official, shadow managers could place their own guesses, participate in randomisations, REALLY take players away and request rerolls (which would affect the lover, that would still go both ways).
It's turning into too complicated a way to allow for more managers to be honest, based on a format which probably can't be used more than twice a year as it is fun but too flawed as far as a drafting challenge is concerned. You have almost zero control over how your team shapes up or preventing others from shaping up too nicely.
Great fun though mate, I'm enjoying the variety of themes/restrictions and these challenges will probably help keep things honest/rebalanced.
