I need to partake in these things somehow.

Option 1) I choose a slot and put my third player in it (up for grabs and not picked yet). If I win I pick someone and the manager loses it even if I'm some randomer wanking in the shadows.

Option 2) I share fortunes with MJJ. If he loses Cole I lose my third player but nobody gets him. If he wins I pick a player to virtually own without the manager losing him.

2 is fair, 1 is a 1/36 meltdown waiting to happen. What says you @Edgar Allan Pillow ?

There should be a 'substitute drafter' option where one main drafter can opt out for one particular round and replaced by a shadow sub.

I really really don't want to gamble any of my players! :(
 
Who is going to be here in the coming hours? Not sure that I have it in me to stay awake and wait for Jayvin, so maybe I'll just leave my pick with someone here?

Sorry, but I'm not sure many (incl. me) really grasps the Shadow drafter concept and all it's implications. Looks like MJJ will benefit if you win and not lose if you don't.

Nah, you clearly didn't get it. MJJ isn't at all affected unless I win and want Cole. The Three Amigos would likely prefer it to stay virtual (which it should in fairness, just mulling over how it would work if this were an official and previously agreed upon thing in future).
 
In short, MJJ isn't shagging the missus, he is my WW lover. Whatever happens to him happens to me.
 
It would be quite the anti-climax (and funny) if nothing happens in this surprise round, yet again...

Well, actually... Aldo and I once beat someone who had Diego, Cruyff and Garrincha on the grounds it would never work.

With a 14 man squad I would strongly consider it though. Get Cruyff on the bench as an AM, sweet.

:lol: The end to that game was legendary. AMs had only just started becoming fashion, and we had established other semifinalists couldn't vote. Nobody had picked up Tito had invalid votes left, right and centre, so everyone posted as if we were losing and I was just sitting there laughing my Travellers off that we had pulled it off, all the while telling @Aldo not to vote so that any fence-sitters went for the side that was "losing".

And then after arguing Cruyff-Maradona-Garrincha couldn't work we showed up at the final with Maradona-Pelé :lol:

The only reason we won was Cutch spent the whole draft not being able to replace Eyzaguirre because he had all the key nationalities tied up elsewhere, including Germany with not one but two goalkeepers. One player per country... so off he went and got two German keepers :wenger::lol::wenger:
