La Liga 2024/25

Might not like Madrid but happy to see Mbappe proving people wrong. He was being very unfairly slandered.

He has really picked it up, fair play, but its difficult to change my mind it was sort of an uneccessary signing.

Team balance looks a little better now, with Vinicius being suspended, but thats just a few games of the season, Vini+Mbappe long-term is still a headache.

I agree with this. The two of them together will never really make sense.

In any case chemistry is much more obvious between Rodrygo and Mbappé than between Vinicius and Mbappé.

100%. I think Rodrygo is a better team player than Vini.

Why is there a MagSafe ring on the ref's red card?

Flo dealt Carlo a bad hand with the squad built this season. There's no balance in the midfield and the fullback positions need to be upgraded.

There seems to be some controversy with the chosen frames to determine if there is offside or not
Isn't the company that operates the VAR and automatic offside in Spain owned by Mediapro which until recently was owned by Barsa's main backer Roures? Not really suprising. No wonder some teams want Hawk-Eye to return.

Now is someone equal or worse than Roures , I mean, it's a joke that VAR images are selected by a company that helped Barcelona with fake money deals, but whatever.

This is just a flaw with var offside, there's a margin of error depending on the frame rate.

I was hoping Mallorca could get a draw against the Yellow Submarine but Villarreal pummeled them in a 10 min spell.

Bilbao are still favorites for that final UCL spot and I hope they can consolidate their position over the next couple of months.

Scores the second as well.

Valladolid 0 - 2 Real Madrid

Mbappe has been lethal in recent weeks, no doubt.

Technically it’s a second yellow for dangerous play.

I’m just glad Jude isn’t injured.
Technically meaning what? It's a red either way and the player is suspended for the next match when I don't think it was a foul.

Bellingham is fine. He milks every contact and got the player sent off there like he wanted.

And this is why VAR can't really succeed, when even obvious decisions like these, people can't agree on.

When people can't agree on reality, replay is worthless.

It is always a foul when you slide tackle with your studs up and get the opponent’s leg… it doesn’t matter how much of the ball you get in such situations.

As in it wasn’t a straight red. And unless Jude has eyes in the back of his head: how in the hell can he have seen who was responsible for the challenge to immediately decide to milk it in order to get them sent off? Come on now.

Ceballos got yellow like 10 minutes before for the same type of challenge….

Crazy harsh. Red and penalty for getting the ball.
It was a yellow card and that's a joke. Touching the ball doesn't mean you can do whatever you want and be exempt of a clear red card.

The Valladolid player leaving the studs just below Bellinghams knee while being the only foot that's on the ground is not a foul and Bellingham milking contact?

Ceballos got a yellow for touching ball first and then having the foot on the ground when there was contact. That both this actions are yellow is a joke.

Not specifically against that player. He always goes down like he's injured in order to get a player carded or sent off. He's pretending to be hurt when he isn't which is deceiving the referee on purpose, i.e. cheating. A lot of players do it, Bellingham does it constantly and it's a blight on football.

I will concede upon viewing it more that it was the correct decision in today's football because the player wasn't in control so the ref was correct. Personally I would not want it to be a foul and I think football is both way too soft and suffers greatly from cheating. Just because you touch a player shouldn't mean it's a football and just because the studs are showing doesn't mean it's dangerous but refs judge studs showing in slow motion with a zero tolerance policy.

You think this wasn't dangerous? We have seen softer challenges than that break legs.

Should have been a straight red.

Stud's up without hitting the man is automatic yellow and has been for some years now. If you hit the man it should be red. Like Pouge said, there's no need for change.

I mean I don't agree with him but it should hardly be surprising that people can change opinions after 1,5 decades. If those posts were separated by 1,5 weeks it would be a different matter.

I like receipts being dug up after more than a decade though

The funny thing is, I just wanted to know since which year studs up was at least a yellow card and I found it by chance in Google

De Jong puts Barca ahead in the 3rd minute after yet another wonderful Yamal ball. Great first touch and finish from De Jong there, one I'd not expect Lewa to make.

Ferran makes it 2-0 in the 9th. Again, a chance I'm fairly sure Lewandoswki would have messed up. Two great balls now from Yamal and Balde.

Raphinha makes it 3-0 in 15 minutes. Just incredible football all around.
