La Liga 2017/18

Loads of empty seats at the game seemingly because of the rain.

Should be 1-1 in the space of 2 minutes but two big chances missed.
Big miss from Ronaldo.
Also Graham Hunter is a shit commentator. He talks like he's on a podcast rather than what's happening on the pitch.

Some great saves from Asenjo again.

Madrid will get a penalty at some point.

At this point it's turning into a curse. How have we not scored exactly?

Very boring game. Villarreal with two banks of four defending very deep. If you read the "best league in the world" threads on here you would think all La Liga matches are some technically superior beautiful matches where teams have a go at each other. This game is like a boring PL game between a top side not quite up to it and a lower table parked bus.

Nobody said that. You're making that up. The claim, however, is that the overall quality of the teams is better than that of PL teams

The number of crosses Madrid have put in this match must be approaching some sort of record.

Of course I was exaggerating a little. The quality of the top teams for sure. Bottom teams not so much.

I won't claim to watch many matches like I am today, but whenever I see mid or bottom table teams in La Liga they play defensive too against the big clubs. However, in those threads you can read folks claim that these "technically superior" teams give a much better account of themselves than Premier league teams do. Which isn't true at all.

Villareal kept the ball very well at times.

Villareal kept the ball very well at times.

You can see that in this league too. Leicester kept the ball well against Chelsea today. Southampton are well adept at keeping the ball. Swansea used to do it when they were promoted to the league. Bournemouth does it too. There are a good number of teams that play technically proficient football. It's a lazy assumption that every mid-table/bottom team in England is a hoof ball team.

Taxi for Zidane.

Real Madrid in danger of not finishing top 4 if they lose this.

Brilliant finish by Fornals btw. He's one to watch.

I actually don't think Zidane will complete the season. PSG will deliver the KO to him.

Ronaldo doesn't need to score those easy chances in such irrelevant la liga matches against shit sides. He just needs to show up in UCL and he will be golden, amirite?

I don't think I have watched much worse season for Madrid in my football life tbh, even when they struggled for some seasons they weren't that shite.

Straight from the sky top last season to down hell this one.

Real Madrid  Always enjoy watching them lose, always hated them since Calderon or whoever the feck cockily said calma calma Ronaldo will be a Madrid player in 2008.

Again won't surprise me is they knock out PSG - that's only motivation left for players this season.

Anything is possible but PSG will be idiotic to not beat Madrid in this state. I mean even Spurs managed it!

All top managers have done the round at Real. Who will they hire now? Carlo back? Allegri? Poch?

They were really shit in 99/00 season - finished 5th but they won the UCL so all was forgiven

Seeing tons of matches from both leagues I find the average La Liga infinitely better to watch than PL. 90% of the biggest epl matches this year have been fairy dull.

Villarreal had won in the bernebeau today for the first time in their history, they don’t usually park the bus this much.

I think Valencia has been more impressive than any EPL side outside or city.

The tactics by conte in the Chelsea game today were horrific.

I do agree with you on Bournemouth, they come out and play instead of sitting deep all the time.
