La Liga 2017/18

I didn't catch the Valencia game unfortunately. Semedo was a bright spot during the start of the season, and he's a natural right back unlike Roberto.

I hope Valverde doesn't give up on him, that would be moronic. I'm afraid that he's just the sort of conservative manager who'd pull such a stunt. Hopefully i'm wrong.
Yeah Semedo has been great but he is a bit dodgy at the back and I guess he wanted some defensive solidity.

Very selfish of Messi to take the penalty when Suarez is on a hat-trick, guarantee you if the roles were reversed Suarez would never have taken that penalty.. If this was the other guy from Madrid , who had Benzema on a brace and took the penalty himself just to get on the score sheet because he was having a frustrating game, everyone would be on his case and saying what a selfish player he is , media would have a field day about it and so would fans , especially if he had missed it. Bit of a d1ck move that from Messi, but all the fanboys see no wrong in him. Also, funny how people slate Ronaldo for scoring too many penalties, remember they still need to be converted.

Barcelona lead the planet in most disallowed goals (Currently at 3 in less than 12 months)

@Daysleeper
I can't see your point when we've dropped points to 3 CL sides that have rampaged through Europe this year? Anyway I didn't realise it was two game but even then I fancy Madrid to beat Barca next week so theres a good chance our league form could be identical in a few weeks.
Plus I just hate City atm..

There is no guarantee, Suarez is a striker and strikers are hungry for goals. You cannot say with certainty he'd do differently.

What a terrible post, Messi is constantly giving penalties to teammates last year something we have NEVER seen Ronaldo do. Messi pretty much spoonfed Suárez for one of his goals yesterday since Suárez has been struggling so badly this season. This is the most bizarre post in this thread.

So bizarre that you not sure how to respond to my post.

I can easily use your statement of " Messi is constantly giving penalties to teammates" to strengthen my argument. Why did he not give it to Suarez who was on a hat-trick ,especially if he is spoon-feeding him like you say? Why deny him of a hat-trick, it is not as if Messi is desperate for goals , Suarez himself won the penalty on top of it. Sorry it just comes across as bratish because he was having a frustrating game and he was hitting posts.

From what I have seen they always swap penalty takers , depending how the other one has been performing etc, but I am pretty sure if Messi was on brace no one else would even consider stepping up to take the penalty, nor would Messi offer it to anyone else.

that's because the whole world is involved in a conspiracy to take down that "other guy from Madrid". Seriously though, Ronaldo is a great player, but he's a selfish prick, that's part of why he's so good, who cares.

He gave one to Ibrahimovic in 2009/10 when Ibra was having a nightmare game against Sociedad if i recall correctly.

Even that taken into account, Messi is probably the designated taker. While Neymar was there they made a point of trying to get everyone from the front three on the scoresheet in the latter stages of the game, especially if it was nearly won. It included some penalties as well, both Suarez and Neymar shot quite a few of them.

The reason Ronaldo gets that treatment is based on years of events and actions that can be perceived to be selfish. When a one off event happens, naturally people jump on it as it reflects the last example of a long pattern of such actions. You might argue that the perception/narrative around him is wrong but arguing that any one off event should be evaluated as a standalone is just not how the media or people, for that matter, work.

Umm Messi is someone who always gives up a penalty for a team mate low on confidence, let alone just for a hat trick. He's given up a penalty when on a hat trick so Neymar could get on the score sheet. This match was just Messi being extremely frustrated by his misses and the post.

I think the clasico will end a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. This barca team knows how to grind positive results regardless of the performance, i believe valverde will be happy with a draw at the bernabeu considering barca have 11 points lead over real madrid.

Its a very good chance for atletico to close the gap and move closer to the top spot

0-0 is impossible in a Clasico. Don't even remember the last time it happened. Messi will have a field day against this Madrid defense and Barcelona are without their best centreback in Umtiti. I'll go with a 2-2.

Looking at the next few fixtures Madrid really need all 3 points here. If Barça wins they've 100% won the league and if they draw it would take an epic meltdown for them to lose it.

Again, if Messi always gives up his penalty's , why not let Suarez complete his hat-trick? A suarez who has been below par and is probably somewhat low on confidence as you say? Are you arguing to strengthen my point or to counter my point? Exactly, it seems as though he is being bratish, just to get on the scoresheet, nevermind the fact that he is 4/5 goals clear of whoever is in 2nd place. He is not desperate for goals. I am not bothered who scores and who doesn't not for Barcelona to be fair, it just comes across as very petulant and selfish as if to say , you already scored 2 goals, i have hit endless posts and I am frustrated, a penalty will make me feel better about myself and put me on the score sheet!

of course he is selfish, all top players are selfish pricks, they have to be or else they would not be the great players they. They need egos and arrogance to drive them.

Atlético will denounce Barça in FIFA for the contacts with Griezmann
edit:

Atlético have denounced Barça .Atlético understand that Barcelona are adulterating the integrity of the competition. Barcelona are exposed to two market periods of penalty without signing

Article from the excellent Sid Lowe about the situation at Las Palmas
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...gunda-as-they-go-from-pako-to-paquito-to-paco

I wouldn't know how to feel if my next coach was to be the guy who the rejected me, then said "yes" barely a month later and then refused to coach a team in risk of relegation until January because he wants to have his christmas holidays above else.

How does Jemez walk into that dressing room now and say the players to give their 100% and be professionals when he started the job giving 0 damns about a team needing him so much?

Only 1 points, 1 goals scored and 8 goals conceded for Seville in the last 3 games. Big crisis for them.

Madrid will win, but Barca will win the league regardless.
I agree Real will win classico. They will definitely get up for a game like this and go all out, while Barca on the other hand have too many injuries and will be too dependent on Messi saving them.

Predictions for saturday? 1-1, imo.

I'd suck a dick for a 1-1. We can be reasonably relaxed given the gap between us and them, but it's still going to be an extremely difficult fixture. Although we have a great record at the Bernabeu in the past decade and a bit.

I predict a pasting. 4-0 or something. Easy win.

Berizzo seems to be fired. Sevilla FC official radio channel has confirmed it.

The rumours say following alternatives for the Sevilla manager role:

Pelegrini
Rudy Garcia
Laurent Blanc
Luis Enrique
Tuchel

More to follow! Sevilla will have press conference any minute.
