La Liga 2017/18

I don't think Suarez is in the kind of form to justify tricks, just hammer it into the roof of the net, you clownshoe!
To be fair, it was a goal.
Refs are getting ridiculous now though. That's the 3rd poor decision in 4 games.

When Dembele comes back Barca will be much potent in attack. Playing a 4-4-2 doesn’t make for the most beautiful football (although they’ve been fun to watch today) but getting a proper winger back will really help and Messi can go back to playing as a false 9.

If they could find a way to replace Suarez in the team when Dembele is back, even better. He's really spoiling a lot of attacks.

Was it? Angle i saw was inconclusive

Either way not nearly as shocking as the betis or valencia one. Nor as influential given the score

Didn't look 100% clear to me, and that is what refs are supposed to work on, so I can see why it wasn't given.

Funny how Barca seemed to be in decline once again at the start of the season, yet here they are leading La Liga. When's Dembele back?

The winger will not return to action until January as he continues his recovery from injury, ruling him out of the game against Real Madrid

He's already been training with the full squad and is expected to play Jan 4th against Celta Vigo in the Copa Del Rey.

I think Suarez is playing much better over these past 3-4 games, he's had as many goals in the last 3-4 games than he has had all season prior to that.

His passing is still off I agree, but he seems to be finding the back of the net more often now at least. With Neymar gone, more pressure on Suarez to score consistently.

One on one and Suarez messes it up. Tap ins are the only way he'll score

This keeper has hexed Messi, I think.

Messi having a shocker in front of goal today. Should have had 3 atleast.

Another post another rebound goal for Paulinho. This could have been 8 goals by now.

On another day, Messi would have had a double hat trick by now. Shocking finishing.

Statistically, it's supposed to be quite hard to hit the woodwork. What an odd game, we are comfortably scooping up the points and yet I'm still irritated, haha.

This is a beyond terrible performance by Deportivo. Could have easily been 10-0 if Barça could finish their chances.

42 points in 16 games, still unbeaten, 42 goals scored and only 7 conceded. You have to give Valverde credits, especially after getting thrashed in the Spain Super Cup back in august.

Finally a good performance all brought them the 3 points. Deportivo came with a total lack of game plan though. They were so open it really should have been 10 atleast.

I can't believe it only finished 4-0. Barcelona could and should have scored at least 4 more.

I know these things happen both ways, but it hurts a little thinking that with the Valencia and Vigo goals we'd be 17 points ahead of Madrid right now

Barca have 42 points and we have 41 with 3 goals less than a Messi side
We've played (1) more but God dammit City...God dammit

It seems this was the first full 90 minutes of great football from them since the Eibar rout in september. What's up with Semedo though, he's nowhere to be seen in these last couple of weeks?

Vermaelen is actually a better player than given credit for, i thought their defence is going to fall apart sans Umtiti. Good to see Pique without a howler.

Semedo played vs Valencia but was very poor for their goal and has barely played since. Sergei was great today so not really a huge miss.

I didn't catch the Valencia game unfortunately. Semedo was a bright spot during the start of the season, and he's a natural right back unlike Roberto.

I hope Valverde doesn't give up on him, that would be moronic. I'm afraid that he's just the sort of conservative manager who'd pull such a stunt. Hopefully i'm wrong.

You guys have played two more games and in an arguably weaker league. People see Madrid struggle and assume La Liga has gotten worse but I think it may even end up being more competitive this year.
