Definetly; last thing we need is similar loan-deals as Vietto or Kranevitter. Or the likes of Vietto or Kranevitter. Sevilla have until thursday to decide wether to activate Jovetic's clause or not. The clause is at 13 million Euros I think. It looks like we will be losing Jovetic.

I am quite happy that we won't attempt to get Nasri. He was surprisingly great in Autumn, but came off as completely disinterested in Spring, and his actions in the second leg vs Leicester is still unforgivable. He'll never mature, might as well stay at City with his big salary. But I hope we have the funds to keep Jovetic, despite him being injury prone. He was one of the few positive aspects in a dissappointing spring.

We are about to get Teodorczyk from Anderlecht. I have never seen him play, but surely this 26 year old can't be worse than the current strikers in the squad. As you say, our squad is very average, so almost any type of signing is welcome at this point (except for Vietto, Kranevitter, Casillas-esque type of loans/signings).

I am a bit torn when it comes to Jovetic. He is a quality player with very positive attitude, but also expensive (wage) and I wasn't entirely convinced how Sampaoli used him. I am still not sure if he can lead the lines on his own or if he needs another central forward next to him. Imo Berizzo has to make the call and decide if he fits into his plans. We shouldn't be penny-pincher if he sees him as important part of his squad, but otherwise I'd let him go. Having an expensive player, that doesn't fit the system, forces the manager to make questionable compromises.
Totally agree on Nasri. He confirmed all my problems with him. He is talented, but he has a terrible character. He is great as long as things go his way, but when things get tough, he'll go missing (or become a huge liability). Sooner or later he is always going to let his team down. That said, we urgently need to replace him with another CM who can pass the ball.

We were already linked to Teodorczyk in the past. So we'll have extensive scouting information about him and he scored a decent amount of goals in Belgium and the Ukraine. I don't know him at all, but that transfer looks quite promising. He could be a typical late bloomer. Wass from Celta might join us as well, which would be a good thing (compared to Aspas, who I really don't want).

That's very true, there is no point going after Jovetic if Berizzo doesn't have him in his plans. The club would shoot itself in the foot if they start to take decisions over Berizzo's head. If Berizzo would like to have Jovetic, and if we would go for him, then we still need to strengthen our attacking positions, because even though I thought Jovetic did well in this spring, I can't see him leading the attack on his own (I think you have a point here).

Would be really nice if we could get Wass, and possibly Krohn Dehli would help him to adjust in the club  Think a club like Sevilla would give Wass the perfect opportunity to take further steps in his development. Haha, Aspas, good memories (not).

We definetly need someone like Rakitic or Banega. Not that they grow in trees, but it would be nice if we could add a midfield-controlling type of player and the current squad is in desperate need for someone in that role. Obviously, Rakitic and Banega are not similar type of players, but we are really longing for someone who can master similar role as Banega. N'Zonzi can't be that one, he needs to stick with his initial role, which should be more of a two-way type of midfielder (yet, under Sampaoli it would sometimes become frustrating to see N'Zonzi of all players dictate the passing). Banega is on his way to Mexican club Tigres - why aren't we getting him back ?! Maybe his wages, or maybe he only works under Emery, but still...would be worth a shot, if there's no one else.

Hm, Teodorczyk...A striker that appears to be a late bloomer and who has done well in the Belgian league...Sounds like a certain Colombian

Last team to get promoted chosen from Tenerife, Cadiz, Getafe or Huesca. Would love another team from Andalucia in La Liga next season ;)

Unjustified hype based on superficial similarities. I am in!

Mexican clubs pay silly money. Above what various (smaller) european leagues pay. Someone like Banega is certainly going to earn a fortune. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that clubs like Las Aguilas or Chivas pay as much as we do on average (maybe even more?). I also didn't really follow Banega in ItaLy, but his transfers might indicate, that he lacks the desire to cut it at the highest level. I trust the officials to find suitable players.
Despite all the changes and despite almost nothing being decided yet, I have a really positive feeling.

Yeah, I don't blame Banega to be honest. Football careers are short, better make most of it. Although, it is a shame he did not make it in Inter, and Inter is not the most stable club at the moment. Three different managers in one year is not healthy for any player, which evidently had its effect on the entire Inter squad; they ended up last (or second to last) when they made the Serie A table based on the performance in the spring. That is shocking for a club of Inter's reputation. Pazza Inter indeed...

Well, at least silly season has started well, and it seems that it will continue to go well, despite the increasing possibility of loosing Vitolo & N'Zonzi. I expect our squad to be stronger on paper, compared to last season, when we had the much worse squad compared to recent years.

@Santi_Mesut_Alexis_87 I don't mind any of the teams actually. These semifinals will be dramatic:drool:

What is the reason that they can pay silly money? Attendance seems okay-ish, somewhere around 25'000 on average but I guess they don't get the same for tickets. Odds are that international games also render less.

Silly money in the context of being a non-european league. Obviously that's not much compared to the EPL or what European top clubs can spend. Still the MX has higher average attendance than Italy or France and the league is very popular domestically (+fairly popular in the us). Tickets are cheap but overall commercial domestic revenue is surprisingly high. Additionally the big clubs have their shady connections with the Mexican elite. That helps as well to get good deals. Both chivas and club America are imo valued 250m€+. Additionally there have been some organisational changes that helped to professionalise the environment (around 2010+). All of that is the reason why so few Mexican players come to Europe: only the very best can improve their salary with a transfer.
Someone like banega is going to be a top earner in the league. Not sure what that exactly means, but he'll get at least as much as a player of his quality would earn in Europe.

Quite enjoyable league to watch games live. Good atmosphere and passionate fans.

Banega was gash for inter. Even during their good spell when they looked really good and went toe to toe with juve in turin, with guys like kondogbia, d'ambrosio and ansaldi looking like actually good players, banega was still gash

Tigres in concrete is super loaded and it should be one of the most expensive squads in the continent, if not the most expensive. There is another Monterrey team with a lot of money who recently made a new stadium and it was surprising when TIgres managed to pull someone like Gignac from Europe, as from what I've seen for him he could comfortable be playing in Europe in a good team, so I think he must be getting payed a lot here and the league I think is competitive enough as he was still selected for last Euro when he was already at Mexico. Tigres definitely pays more than the lesser and mid tier sides in La Liga. Maybe that's why Atlético de Madrid recently bought a mexican team, is a team in the second division but I think they have plans on investing on it and having ascend to the 1st league and maybe use it to form mexican players they can buy or loan players there but they're up to something.

Funny you mention this when Tigres is in fact owned by CEMEX, the second largest building materials company worldwide, specialized in cement and ready-mix concrete.

Teams like Tigres, América (owned by Televisa, the largest multimedia mass media company in the Spanish-speaking Americas), Monterrey (owned by FEMSA, the largest independent Coca-Cola bottling group in the world, the largest convenience store chain in Mexico, and also the second largest shareholder of Heineken International), even Chivas (Omnilife), Pachuca & Cruz Azul could outbid most Spanish teams. Even though, Mexican teams prefer to go to South America for their transfers and they rarely splash big transfer fees, they preffer to offer better salaries.

Huesca-Getafe 2-2 in the first Liga Adelante playoffs semifinal. Getafe bottled a 2-nil lead in the second half.

I kind of enjoy the Mexican league. The quality is decent overall too. The league is very competitive too its very wide open.

I went to a Chivas game a few years ago in their old stadium (Estadio Jalisco) and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Good food before and after, really nice people enthusiastic about their football and hot girls too.

Yep. Overall it is a fun league. A good mix of quality, passion/atmosphere, price and comfort/safety. I think most English fans would enjoy visiting a game.

I visited one of the last derby tapatio (chivas Vs atlas) before chivas moved to their new stadium. Buzzing atmosphere. Atlas have been really garbage, but their fans didn't seem to be bothered.
Fairly recently I have visited the Clasico Regiomontano which was a really good game. Both teams could probably hold their ground in European leagues as well. Overall the quality improved quite a bit during the last 10years with 5-6 teams having reasonably competitive squads.
TL, dr: the Mexican league is quite okay.

Oh and Sevilla is linked to Edwin cardona from Monterrey. Would be an interesting pun, when he is allowed to leave for little money.

Funny you mention Atlas. Gerardo "Loco" Venegas used to play there. He's cousins of two of my best mates (one is my roommate), hung out with him a couple years back (just before he transferred to Chiapas) and got blitzed around Long Beach. He doesn't speak much English and I don't speak much Spanish but with a few beers in us and Football as the mutual language we got along and understood each other! He's a cracking lad. I know he played a few times on the national team too. He's a huge Chivas fan my buddy was kissing ass and said "I've always been a Chivas fan but root for Atlas now because of you", Gerardo said "Oh I still root for Chivas".

Iraizoz to Girona. Good signing. We needed a keeper after all.

Getafe 3-0 to Huesca.they'll play against Cádiz or Tenerife for a place in primera

Something quite strange in the match Tenerife-Cádiz for the promotion. In the first match Cádiz 1 Tenerife 0, now 1-0 for Tenerife in extra time but there won´t be penalties, with this result, even being a draw,Tenerife will qualify to play against Getafe since they finish over Cádiz in the final classification

Tenerife-Getafe will be the final

No idea but It seems pretty unfair. If they establish knockout I do not see the sense in rewarding the regular season
Makes sense to me. Works the same in italy, too

I think it's more Inter personally, also sounds like the player might be returning to the Primera

@SfcNervion apparently Banega is coming back (9m) and Nolito (loan + option for 6-7m) should be a done deal. Overall both would be great deals. Banega is still only 28, so getting him back could turn out brilliant, if he gets his head straight.

Yeah I would be very content with Banega back. Banega got at least 3-4 good years in him left; hopefully he can reach his peak even without Emery. He, Nolito and Navas should be official any day now.

Rumours suggest we are getting Banega and Jovetic in a 20 million Euro deal; I'd love that. Bacca has said no to Espanyol, as Espanyol were also intimidated with bidding on Bacca's asking price. Bacca's agent has made no secret that Sevilla is their first choice when leaving Milan. As he is at the age of 30 years, he should have at least 2-3 good years in him:drool:

On top of that we are getting another striker and couple of defenders as well. If Vitolo&N'Zonzi stays then we could have a squad as great as 14/15 season or 06/07 season. If we are suppose to believe Castro & Arias, that Vitolo & N'Zonzi only leaves if each clause of 40 million euros are activated, then we could have 80 million euros to spend on 3-5 really decent players. This is such a win/win situation:drool:

Haha, that would be swell. Then you could tell him: "Boludo, why did you leave in the first place?"
