Is it only me, or do you guys also think that Ronaldo feels "threatend" by Morata? Just watching and I cannot shake that feeling.

Well, that sounds fun. :D
Still working so I couldn´t see the match. I just saw the lineup in a ticker and wasn´t impressed. I am not surprised that we lost; I was just hoping that the lucky streak would continue. How did we play?
I agree with you about Rico/Sirigu. I was never a huge fan of Rico, but he played fantastic this season. He should be starting. Buying another keeper, who is more or less on the same level made no sense.
Overall Sampaoli is shifting and changing a bit too much. He is very fortunate, that he won enough points, so everybody is happy despite our mediocre performances. I still think we lack individual quality in various positions.

I have been praising Sampaoli lately, but I actually agree with you, we lack quality players on many positions. But, I think Sampaoli has deserved to be so fortunate, with so many new players to adjust to the club, he has handled it very well despite the extreme circumstances. I believe our poor style of play so far is the result of inflation of players, while the lucky results are an effect from Sampaoli's way of adjusting and coaching. For instance; we played quite ok in many moments of the second half, despite the lack of good players. But then again, after Balenziaga's brilliant goal (his first ever!) Sevilla regressed to be poor again. We usually let in the goals in the most stupid ways, as the first we let in today and the third one. These factors aren't really in Sampaoli's domain because these mistakes are the causes of individual stupidity, but also causes of so many new players that haven't had enough time to be familiar with each other. Here, we could blame Sampaoli for him rotating 180 degrees, since building consistency should be the first priority. However, sevilla's situation is delicate; we are suppose to have 14 new players competing for starting 11, and still try to maintain our high ambitions right away. Not fair circumstances to any coach, espacially to a coach that is also new to the club.

What Sampaoli need to work on with his tactics, is how to attack against low defences. As soon as opponent goes super defensive on us, we start to rely on refereeing mistakes (like vs las palmas), or on rare mistake from the opponent. And lets not forget the horrible call from the linesman from betis equaliser; that linesman should be fired solely for that. I can't believe that we are so weak on the attacking/creating chances department vs low defences, considering how it looked like in the season premiere:lol:. Lately it has been lot of passing back and forth, that doesn't lead to anything.

But I am still optimistic, I can see the potential in this. I think once the players are more familiar with each other, all the puzzles will fall into their places.

Morata looking up for it so far.
Real looking the most likely to score as soon as they get their attack on the same page here in the final third.

0-1

Great, determined run by Nacho; Asensio really has a talent for advancing in goalscoring positions at the right time.

Such a weird game this one. Both teams are incredibly wasteful in defense, giving the ball away every other minute.
Fun to watch though!

Las Palmas seem like a great club. Lovely football, great atmosphere, seemingly a well-run club off the pitch.

Kroos has been poor. So many times Real have picked the wrong pass when such a simple through ball is there for them that would present a goal scoring opportunity.

Las Palmas is pretty strong at home, think they are unbeaten at home this season. Still think Madrid will win it late though.

Ronaldo was in a better position there but Bale had a right to go for it. They both has been less effective than Morata up front so far.

Cristiano is not in his best moment.Without Casemiro and playing like this Madrid will have a very difficult game against Dortmund

Ronaldo is shit. Carvajal is having a stinker too.

We're also really missing Marcelo's creativity.

What do you make of your chances against Dortmund?
I wouldn't bet for Madrid. They usually collapse in Germany so probably will be important to control the game, perhaps for that reason Kovacic is resting although he is not exactly a defensive midfielder.

Ronaldo is such a miserable bastard sometimes. How can you not be smiling 24/7 when you are that successful in almost every aspect of life?

He cheered when Benzema scored and walked over to congratulate him. No he didn't go nuts and run full pelt over there but he was clearly happy.

Because he's already used to all the succes. And it's Ronaldo we're talking about, the guy always looks miserable if he hasn't scored yet.

WHO IS THAT BRITISH GUY COMMENTING ON THE BARCA AND/OR REAL MATCHES AND WHY?

i..i can't even! somebody needs to shoot him in the throat or whatever, but please! no more MAJESTEEEEERRRRIAL BALLS, ffs!

UARRRHHHHH IT'S JIMI HENDRIX AT WOODSTOCK!!!!! SLOTS IT IN WITH THE PRECISION OF A BEAUTIFUL POOL PLAYER!!! MAGIC BALL BY INIESTA AND A MAJESTIC FINISH!!!

Come on.. James was happy. Ronaldo was just not very annoyed, like he usually is.

He does make it very hard to like him - just look at his reaction to Benzema's goal.
