Valencia defended better than this, they made Real work for it, as did Eibar and Las Palmas. It was a 'fair' price at that moment, when you adjust inflation I think Zidane is actually the most expensive signing ever but the difference is something marginal, and is practically the same. Bale transfer is also on par with Ronaldo and Zidane's transfer although I do consider Bale was overpriced.
