And Morata scores

2-0 "A new hope"
Penalti for the 2-2 "The empire strikes back"
2-3 "Return of the Jedi"

Every year the same, and what gets me more aggravated are pundits praising how Real Madrid are great at comebacks, yeah, wonder why
Yeah, Barca never gets decisions in their favor. For crying out load, you won 2 UCL because of referees and they tried the best to give you another one when they decided to send off Mota.

Apart from Stamford Bridge, where???

van Persie sent off for us for taking a shot after the whilst was blown, when we were winning 3-2 on aggregate at the Nou Camp

Was that the tie when Messi had a clear goal disallowed in the first leg for offside?

LFP will do everything for Madrid - Barca to not be decisive for the league title.

Stop screaming every time you're fouled you planks

It really takes away something from the game in Spain imo.

I've tried watching El Classico several times but I seriously lose interest about 20 minutes in due to the play acting and crowding of the ref. It is more of a spectacle than an actually fluid football match.

Quality on show is often superb, but you simply get annoyed.

Four, we won four thanks to the refs.

It wasn't foul in the 92' when Koeman scored
Eto'o was offside in the first goal in 06'
We robbed Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
RVP and Pepe unfairly sent off in 10'

I know the narrative, is not like we've seen today's match over and over again this season when Real Madrid are in danger of losing points. You don't think this is all biased? Your problem, not mine

When the ref decided to sent off Van Persie because Barca needed to score. Or the absurd pens against Milano. At least in UCL there is no team who has gone as much decisions in their favor as them.

In the league Real gets too many decisions, but so does Barca. Yet Barca fans act like they are going against the world. It was hilarious last year when FC Barca was moaning about the special treatment of Real, and then in Classico the ref giving the match to Barca.

Surely you can't ignore the decisions Arsenal and Inter got in those ties though?

Was thinking the same, but the Pepe red card perhaps?

Madrid could have had a million other reds in that game. I saw the highlights yesterday, there were disgraceful.

So you ignore the blatant penalties in the 1st leg, and the fact that Barca were absolutely crushing you in that game regardless...?

Even for Overbo, you have to ignore a blatant Barca pen at the Nou Camp and a red for a phantom foul at the Bridge. And another 2 penalties not given plus an offside goal at the San Siro.

(And I'm saying this as someone who was supporting Real and Arsenal in 2011, and Inter in 2010)

Don't remember 92, and for the life of me couldn't ever understand if Eto'o was offside or not (so who cares if it was that close), but can you say with a straight face that the refs didn't give you the matches against Chelsea and Arsenal? Pepe should get a mandatory red card each match, to be fair. Even if it wasn't a red, it was the right decision.

@carvajal
congrats, I would have preferred that you loose (so Sevilla stays in the title race), but the result is okay. I think the pen is more or less 50/50. I could argue for both sides; the rules are very dodgy and ambiguous. In the end his hand was in a very strange position. It is not the most aesthetically pleasing side, but you are really hard to kill.

Atletico are just unlucky with their finishing this season.

Difference is the evil empire has so much individual talent that even when they have clueless manager and play awful like today, they can nick the win.

With Barca is the same thing, only they have just one individual doing the same this season. It's not so evenly spread out which makes Messi look like superman who is pulling the whole team and with Real its just luck.

Imagine if Benzema had half of the intensity that Morata has. If pigs could fly:lol:

After this crazy weekend we can conclude the following:
  • Top 3 is now distinguished, since there is enough space between Sevilla and the 4th.
  • Adios Atletico:D Now they have to compete with La Real for the last spot.

Like he can't ignore 2 pens. for Barca not given in the Chelsea tie (Henry and Ballack) and the wrong expulsion of Abidal. If Henry gets a pen. in min 70 or so on Camp Nou, and Bosingwa is robably red carded according to the old rules, then... different tie.

I'm talking about errors that go only in one direction. Like tonight, or in plenty of games Madrid play in Spain. Including comical pens given for them, for dives, fouls outside the area, imaginary hand balls, or even Madrid players pushing themselves. That is beyond any reasonable explanation. Meanwhile, you have stuff like Barca against Villareal, where players intentionally block shots with their hands, or games like vs Betis, where ball enters 1m inside, but goal is not given. Anyone with common logic can add all of this and reach to the conclusion that Madrid can't go too long without a title in Spain.

He can, just like he ignored Inter scored 2 goals on offside in the 1st leg and Bojan got disallowed a completely legal goal that would put us through in the 2nd leg because "Motta got sent off"

Like conceding a goal from the offside position when Barca needed to score, playing without a man for 60 minutes, Maicon getting his teeth broken from Messi and Milito getting stopped for an offside (which wasn't even close) in an 1 to 1 position. Yes, Inter scored from an offside position and Bojan goal was legit, but Inter had more decisions against them in those two matches. Yet Barca crybabies act like they were the victims.

Barca also had two stone wall penalties not given. Both teams benefited from decisions in that tie but that was a year after the Chelsea game so people jumped on the 'Uefalona' crusade. And which Barca goal was offside?

I saw and loved those matches, I don't remember an offside Barca goal. They scored from a cutback away and Pique was level (Muntari) at home.

I feckING HATE REAL! The establishment team since 1938.

Was about to say it was Eto'o keeping Pique onside. Never knew it was Muntari

I think Pique goal was very marginally offsides, but I can't remember exactly. Football is a very imperfect sport, it's not healthy to take it so seriously.
