The CB options are : Mascherano - Mathieu - Pique - Bartra - Vermaelen

I'd say Bartra and Mathieu with Masche ahead of them could be the best defensive setup.

Forgot about him. It's just mind-boggling after again spending so much money on a superstar in attack. With the upcoming transfer ban, they need to make it work with these defenders for 2 years and if they really want to play more direct football, they'll have to defend a lot more in and around the box and withstand more pressure. I just can't see it work.

I also never liked Alba and Alves together on the pitch. They never really worked, always liked the balance that Abidal gave the team during Barca's peak when Alves was at his best as an attacking fullback.

The manager said "every game will be a cup final" - they've just won a trophy. A good one as well against a good team and a local rival. Brilliant start for them.

Alves is done in my opinion. Also, talks too much off the pitch. They should have shipped him off to somewhere. Alba I've never been a fan either. Though, admittedly, he has looked good at times. Can't look past his theatrics either! Their defence might cost them this season against the big boys I reckon, though still early days, Lucho might sort them out somehow.

Fully expect Barca fans to blame the cat if they don't win anything this season, that's their season well and truly fecked!

All the superstitious players will be worried now. All the Latino players moms are probably praying like crazy now since they're mostly religious :)

Then when one of the ball boys eventually catches it but looks like he accidentally drops it in the tunnel ...

"Well either he released it or was attempting to drop kick it .........." HAHAHAHA !
 
Brilliant goal by messi. He has had a good game so far. Some of his passing and exchanges with teammates have been great.

It would have done a better job in midfield today than Cleverly and Fletcher combined with that desire and workrate to avoid getting caught.
