La Liga - 2014/15

Wouldn't mind that. I love him as a player, but I'm not really a fan of his personality bar the ambition and dedication.
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Today he put in a Bebe cross that ended up in no-man's land but was gesticulating towards Bale and Benz to make the correct runs.

And strangely I'm pretty certain that he's a top bloke off the pitch, contrary to how he portrays himself on it.

Valencia a little lucky here. Celta have been the better team today.

Missed penalty. Good save from Alves.

The guy is probably the best penalty saving specialist I can think of in the last two decades. He's faced 37 penalties in Spanish football (all comps), of which only 18 were scored, 2 were off target and the remaining 17 were saved by him!

That's insane. I was aware of his penalty heroics (the commentators mention it) but I didn't know it was that good. Thanks for the stats I was looking for it.

Handanovich for Slovenia/Inter is incredible aswell. He had a run earlier this season of saving 6 penalties in a row. He managed to save 6 in a single season in 10/11 too. Excellent all round keeper, should be rated higher but his penalty record is just mental.

Ronaldo just not got his scoring boots on.

Nice run from Benzema.

He rarely seems to when facing Espanyol. They're probably the team in Spanish football that he has found it hardest scoring against: "only" 4 goals in 11 appearances. Before scoring a hat-trick on them a few weeks ago, the same was true for Messi (9 in 19, now 12 in 20).

And they haven't really been anything special since the days of Tamudo, Luis García, De la Peña etc.

Moyes boys in front. Vela penalty. They have been playing well and deserve the lead.

Barcelona: Bravo, Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Alba, Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta, Luis Suárez, Neymar, Messi

Atlético: Moyá, Juanfran, Giménez, Godín, Jesús Gámez, Gabi, Tiago, Koke, Arda, Griezmann y Mandzukic.

Gámez is the only real surprise out of both line-ups, otherwise as expected.

He's out for the season if I remember correctly, had surgery recently.

Athletic continuing their slump, losing 1-2 v Elche at the San Mamés... they haven't won a league game since the end of November.

Moyes' La Real somehow get a draw at Los Cármenes. Dire football from them, Granada were in complete control in the 2nd half.

Eh what's happening with Atlético's defence?

Messi went on the outside instead of his usual cutting inside, that's what :smirk:

Well it wasn't just Godin vs Messi, Juanfran wasn't exactly impressive in his intent to clear the ball.

Neymar is starting to justify his price tag this season. Needs to continue the good work and improve further. Like the way he drives with the ball.
