La Liga 2013-2014

ATM have had their chances. If they feck this up they'll kick themselves.

Barca and Real have been so inconsistent.
 
Barca have been rubbish lately, and for weeks they looked to be out of it, 2 draws in a row and now they only have to win a home game to win the league. For me, Atletico's chance has come and gone. They had to win today, just had to. Fecking Malaga.
 
Anchelotti, what kind of loser mentality is that? He had been in with a fair chance if he had bothered to take the match seriously. The madrid fans have every right to be mad. That kind of loser mentality will cost them the CL. He's down there with Moyes as a manager.
 
Atletico have bottled it. More than enough chances to win that game, horrible mistake for the Malaga goal. They won't win it now, Barcelona will pinch it.

They have won no points at the camp nou since 2005. It will be a tough ask, although their record against Barca this season is decent, they still only beat them once out of 5 games. Barca are massive favourites now.
 
Wow. I guess it was written in the stars as soon as the Liga schedule was drawn.

Neptuno (the fountain/square where they have their victory parties) had been prep'd in case it had finished today.

What a season.

They didn't even came close to scoring v Elche and were a couple of lucky bounces away from getting a beating... Atléti should eat them raw, although they seem shot as well now.

In any case, they only need a draw. Can't even see Barça scoring to be honest.

Atletico just had to win against Malaga today. If they lose it from here, they only have themselves to blame.

Atleti are shot, it's been a mental season, but recently they just look like they have nothing left in the tank (except the Chelsea game)
 
What happened in the Atletico Madrid v. Barcelona earlier this year in the league? What margin can Atletico afford to lose by and still win the title?
 
anyone who saw any of the Barca game will surely think Atletico don't have much to fear. Atletico were unlucky not to take that, Barca were flat, gutless and generally uninspiring, nothings changed for them and I strongly fancy Atletico to batter them and take the title.

I hope thats how it pans out anyway, would be awful if they did a Liverpool

Yep. Sadly I agree.

I have a feeling they will just come out in a blitz and kill of the game in first 20 mins with 3 quick goals.

Despite being out of form, in a one off at home, its still the most bankable result in world football.
 
Far from certain that Barca will win. They looked completely toothless against Elche today and if Elche's players could finish better then a bunch of drunk 6th graders they could have won the game today.

Barca suites Atletico because they essentially can stay deep and use their pace in attack to hit them on the counter.

Atletico 0-0 Barcelona in the reverse fixture, therefore if Barca wins or draw 0-0 (Barca has superior GD), the win the title.

It was 0-0, so they can't afford to lose at all. Head-to-head is what counts, so 1-0 will do it for Barcelona.

Ronaldo has 177 Liga goals in 165 games in 5 seasons. Only 1 league title.

He must be disappointed with that. He's won more with us.

It will be a great game. I cant wait. Its been the best season since 06/07. Hopefully it will be a Madrid team winning it again.
 
Can't believe Barcelona are going to win this. They looked out of it three weeks ago. What a complete collapse from the Madrid clubs; makes Liverpool's look tame.

I will swap leagues with you if you want. I would rather compete with city and Chelsea and Liverpool than Barcelona and atletico that's for sure.
 
Both Madrid teams are missing their top scorers and it's showing.

I couldn't quite recall what happened that year. I know Real won that year. 3-3 and 1-0 wins for Madrid against Barca that year or am I getting it mixed up?

Not sure about that to be honest. I feel like there are more teams in the Premier League that could take points from us than in La Liga.

We beat them two nil at home and drew 3-3 away. The league went to the final day and at one point we were third or fourth in the league. We didn't top the table until late march or april.
