only a 3 year contract? Where does he go from here? Do Madrid go back for him after 3 years after all this?

Does he take a massive pay cut.. because no one is paying him that kind of money..

its a weird one.. I mean its a shit load of money.. but what happens in 3 years? I think he'll stay at PSG forever now..

PSG is even less popular than those 2 though tbf

There's a special breed of hatred reserved for the oil giants, one that I share. The other 2 are still football clubs at their core/heart which is more respectable for most fans than being PR/soft power pet projects for unimaginably rich gulf autocracies.
Are Real really a football club? Weren’t they backed by a state themselves at one point?

Doesn't matter if its "Only" 3 years, PSG will offer him whatever it takes to stay put further, there will be rumors every year, but he will stay where he is.

Get an annual pay raise like what Messi does

I'm not buying this talk about him having a say in who the sporting director will be and wotnot

it's too ridiculous to be true, surely?

They have documented ties to the Spanish government in the past but they're not funded by it.

They've also been arguably the biggest club in the world for most of their history.

Shame he'll be in French league until he's 26-27.

Guess he desperately wants to win CL with them which is fair ambition but a bit of a gamble.

Interested what the Real Madrid plan B is although Benzema in incredible form and Vinicius having his breakthrough season means they can concentrate on other areas of the squad first.

The way PSG has been bullying Real and Barca is kind of hilarious. I remember some of the shit that was being reported when they bagged Neymar

Yeah have to say I enjoy their zero fecks given approach as long as it doesn't concern us. The spanish giants just aren't used to being the beta dog

It's great to see off the pitch but I'm also thankful that it hasn't translated on the pitch yet

Really thought he would go to Madrid this summer after running down his contract. It’s frightening that Qatar are able to fund Mbappe’s renewal like that, it’s grotesque and dangerous that a state can have that influence kind of influence in the game.

The saving grace is that it’s Madrid who are on the losing end who aren’t exactly likeable and enjoy being difficult in the transfer market themselves.

Luis Campos and Zidane in too? Dembele apparently coming and Kylian staying. A PSG fan wet dream... I hope we can have a big , smart amd succesful summer

The dumbest people on the planet wouldn't let someone who works for them to run their company. How could we believe such a thing especially when it originated from Real Madrid media platforms.

The money they offered him is the only reason he stays. Footballers don't care the game any more it is all about the money. The greed is getting bigger and bigger.

So Mbappe chooses PSG and Haaland chooses City.

Really thought Madrid would close at least one of these deals but football has definitely changed. Just take the enjoyment of La Liga crying there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

RM and Barca has been bullying them on the field for years, but clearly players don't care about that.

Has Football changed or has Football went back to the late 80s to late 90s when Milan and Inter would attract the biggest names alongside other italian clubs?

What's better or worse? Seeing Madrid/Barca/La Liga lose out or the oil clubs going from strength to strength?

I have a feeling opposing players may go a bit harder on him in terms of tackles. Got to be the silliest decision in all of sports giving a player that much money and power. Can’t wait to see Lewis Hamilton build his own F1 car.

The scenes when pictures emerge of Ramos teaching Mbappe how to use another club for insane new contracts!

Madrid are European royalty and arguably one of the biggest club in the world but this whole narrative that get who they want has been built on fact they were willing to blow every other club in the world in terms of wages and transfer fees for the players they truly wanted , so suddenly seeing their supporters tying themselves into knots when other Club is doing something similar to keep the player is quite funny .

They act actually offended that a player chose another club over them. It’s embarrassing. I saw a tweet somewhere with some journalist saying “Real Madrid are not a tool” like if every other club don’t get used in contract negotiations. They’re all spoiled children over there and it is hilarious.

The entire "greed" narrative only coming up now that he's staying at PSG is a bit amusing. Where was this shock and outrage when he was getting a 130 million signing fee + massive wages offered by Madrid?

The money isn’t surprising, was only a matter of time and really it’s not that huge when you think a about it in regards to signing a marquee player, the worlds most marketable and probably best for the next 7 years. Eg £100m fee but to player instead of rival club, £50m a year wages was only a matter of time.

Where PSG have embarrassed themselves is with power they’ve given him. If true it’s utterly ridiculous and no manager with self respect will want to join them.

Also how does it work. Imaging they hire Jose, they get linked with a player and at the presser mourinho and Mbappe are sitting together and a journo asks Mbappe “so you’ve been linked with x player any truth in that and is that the type of player you’d like at PSG?” Or PSG get Ko’d in the CL QF, managers job is in question, and the journos start asking Mbappe about the manager’s future….. would any certified manager like SAF, Klopp, Ancelotti, Jose, Pep, Conte etc accept that? At best they’d get a puppet whose just happy to be given the job

PSG is one of the best sporting projects around. Always a candidate for the CL and have a stacked squad, and financial backing to attract any talent. In contrast, Barcelona is reportedly experiencing liquidity issues. And though Real is a good team with great emerging talents, it isn't miles away from PSG and have had to rely on last minute heroics quite a bit.

People trying to act like PSG are a bummy team/club are doing nothing but lie to themselves. It's nothing but copium

The entitlement, bruised ego, and level of coping they're doing on their forums is really juicing me up. I am really enjoying these news, just make it official and that's Haaland and Mbappe done and dusted and we won't have an absolute avalanche of fake reports to deal with all summer.

Always hated that about Real Madrid, also Barca and the La Liga FA in general because of how they cried after Neymar left.

When they do it it’s celebrated. The minute it started happening to them, or players started rejecting them then they decide money is ruining football. But the answer is to make more money for themselves by starting a closed league.

So while i think PSG have given Mbappe too much power, I always smile when RM/Barca lose their best players or don’t get their targets.

Who cares. I’d do the same (money).

La Liga throwing a tantrum after getting everything their own way for the last 10-15 years.

I think the idea that Mbappe has a say in the running of the club is mind blowing.
Are any PSG fans worried it might actually be true?

No matter how many emojis you use, Mbappe is staying at PSG and that's just the harsh realities you have to deal with.

Yeah? Their "project" is still a joke though, its the worst out of the oil clubs by far, thats also a harsh reality.
