L'Equipe in France are reporting United's (and Everton's) interest in Zouma.

It says Everton have already sent a request for a loan deal while United have opened discussions for a permanent move.
Please, no. This would be the definition of a panic buy. Not too sure why we would be panic buying for CB.
I think it maybe a ploy to help negotiate the Alderweireld price down but it's leaving it a bit late.
Kurt Zouma was a very popular player in the 2015 PL winning team. He got a bad injury and after recovery went out on loan. He played well for Chelsea alongside John Terry. If he can return to the form he showed at Chelsea he really wouldn't be such a bad option for Utd. The crowd loved him and it's hard to remember any obvious faults. Quick, strong, good tackler and good in the air. Whats not to like.
Come on down guys! £25m anybody.
Fair enough but since his injury he hasn't looked anywhere near good enough to be starting for a top 4 side, talk less of a club determined to mount a title challenge. If we are getting him to be a squad member I don't think it's necessary. I honestly believe we are suitably covered in the CB department. If we are signing another it should be an improvement on what we already have and who will walk straight into the starting 11 (like Toby). We have enough bang average CB's as it stands. We really shouldn't be bloating with average players whom we will later struggle to offload.
Your probably right.
How much for Toby? £70m? That's another big investment in an ageing player.
Well, yeah, but at least he is a good PL-proven experienced CB who can stabilise the back for, say 3-4 seasons.
Also, Zouma's still has five more years on his current contract with Chelsea (runs till 2023) and he's only 23 so I'm not confident Chelsea will let him go to a direct rival for very cheap, either. I just don't want us stockpiling average players, especially in an area where we have enough men to cover for injury and loss of form.
I can understand that. Good luck with Toby.
£15m?
