I was happy just seeing him popping the ball around in midfield with a modicum of composure but now he's gone and added last minute winners to the equation too. There's scary potential for him to be great for us and for me to get totally carried away with it

What a player we have. There is no doubt this lad will keep his feet firmly on the ground and go from strength to strength; clearly our best player, even at 18.

the benefit of giving young players enough chances. There were some other midfielders in the reserves in the past who would probably have tied down spots in our god awful midfield department and saved us a lot of money wasted on garbage if they were given the chances. Glad we didn't blow this one.

Great to see him growing in confidence and start dribbling a little more, it is a huge strength of his and we haven’t saw it that much in the first team yet.
I'm still buzzing. To take 3 players out of the equation and then shoot the ball like that... it's incredible. And we are only beginning to see the extent of his potential.

Instead he opted for underperforming players like Mount and Sterling just because, by his own admission, he knows them better
Made the point before, and I think it's evidenced in flashes each game he plays that he doesn't have that adult recovery rate yet - after each really hard exertion, he has that moment where he looks like he's flagging or slower than he actually is and it's a testament to his positioning and intuitive reading of the game that he is compensating for that so seamlessly.
It's a curious affair, watching him physically change as the season has gone on - in the interview after the game, when he was alongside Bruno, he looked taller than him and like his frame is also in line to fill out in the upcoming months. Unlike a Rooney or Milner, he is not the finished physical article whilst thriving in the adult game a ways out from his 20's.
If people wish to take note, comparing this Kobbie with the one we'll see by the start of the new season in August, I expect we'll see a more explosive, powerful player with a considerably stronger engine than he has at the moment. To go with his talent and reading of the play, there's the potential for this kid to turn into a real problem to physically contend with, which is that extra bit of sauce many of the truly great midfielders are blessed with to make an initial headache a real extensive issue (having to match them as athletes before even earning the right to contending with their sky-high level of ability).
Seedorf has been mentioned a few times in terms of similarity, and if Kobbie ends up with even half of that guy's physical prowess, he'll be a very lucky individual indeed.
He could stay as he is and still carve out a stellar career; players such as: Xavi, Iniesta, Cesc and Pedri can certainly attest to that, but the frame he has and the gas tank he currently has is very different to theirs and both suggest there's a lot more to come from the youngster in that department.
Seedorf was a prodigy - like Kobbie - but in contrast to our lad, Seedorf was a cheat code who could run hard all game and only really showed tiers to such a thing when compared to his cohort in Davids, who basically had the title of "pit-bull" because he could play at 100mph at full aggression for entire games in that freakish, indefatigable way some players could/can (Matthäus, Robbo, Keane, Kante, Gerrard etc.), but yeah, Seedorf actually altered his style a lot to become more cerebral whilst having copious amounts of energy, acceleration and outright athleticism in reserve for when it was necessary. I'm thinking along those lines in terms of scaling and wondering how unplayable this kid might become if his final form does see him get that kind of boost that puts him in the category of player it's a real task to contest a game with.

I said a couple of months back that Bellingham should be his mark. Obviously a way to go yet but he's well on his way. Imagine those 2 in that England midfield!

I did mate, and I’m sure you did too. I know you were championing him before he became a regular in the first team too as well and it’s nice when the patience pays off.
Happy for him as he seems a level headed young man. Mainly it’ll give fuel to other youngsters both in the academy and potential targets too.

Probably seen it 10 times this morning, if anything, it grows. There are no less than 8 Wolves player helping out in defence, trying to hold on to their point. He just goes, feck it, got to do it on my own, just glides through the masses, ignores teammates shouting for a pass and just places it calmly bottom corner. No big deal. Amazing.
Very glad to see him play frequently and prove me wrong in saying he will only get a few spare minutes here and there this season. He has made the best of his opportunity and hopefully stays in the team permanently even after Amrabat returns.
He was always going to get plenty of minutes as he's a huge talent. Amrabat couldn't lace his boots.
Just need Gore next season as we have discussed. Ideal replacement for Eriksen. I think the balance looks good with Cas and Eriksen on the way out and Mainoo and Gore to replace. Feels natural. I know we both see that the same way!
