Gaming Kingdom Come: Deliverance II | Please Spoiler

Game definitely growing on me. Its very slowly paced and complex. The writings really good and really feel like exploring. At times its quite hard and the combat can be buggy as hell, but really enjoying it in general. Has a bit of the TW3 vibe.

Every time I played the original I forgot how hard and annoying the combat is at the start because of how shit you are (at the game / your character). Once you get further though it becomes muscle memory and lovely.

Was able to sit down properly last night and play it. It's really gorgeous.

Alright on my way to pick this up from Argos. Now to find time to play this! Bleeding babies man.

Gotta say, being able to speak Hungarian really elevates the experience. The "Cumans" are fun to listen to.

Just finished the "storm" mission.... Great mission but very annoying being over encumbered for most of it and trying to be stealthy

Just got into the open world part. This game is so charming, really loving it so far. Normally this game isn’t really my bag (fecking making potions ), but really enjoying it so far!

What’s this game like? TLOU, GOW, Assassin’s Creed, Days Gone, ghosts of tshima?
Modern Skyrim but medieval and not fantasy, and the combat I actually quite like (after being put off from the videos). Similar feel to the game as how I felt when Skyrim first came out though.

Me and the missus like the games I mentioned so if not like those then probably not for me but I’ll take a look.

Maybe we’ll give Elden Ring another go, was pretty hard though!

If you liked Ghost of Tsushima, give Sekiro a try. Probably my favourite all time game, though very difficult.

Also the next assassin's creed is based in Japan and you're a ninja, and that comes out in a month if those are the games you tend to like
Saw a trailer last night, we’ll definitely be getting that one.

It’s more those are the type of games we enjoy playing.

Writing in this is so good. Love these succes stories where the game developers just do their thing rather than inflated mediocre AAA titles that are just there to milk the customers.

Forgot how annoyingly unforgiving the game is at the start. Ambushed by 3 bandits. Slowly take them all down and start looting. Get ambushed by two bigger cnuts with full armour that destroy me. cnut.

Wow I am so bad at fighting. I just keep getting my arse kicked over and over.

Also went to go and get some sleep at Bohzena (spelling?) the potion lady's house like I normally do. Her daughter Pavlena was asleep on my bed, so I slept upstairs and they woke me up to fine me and accuse me of stealing!

Made me contemplate what would happen if I killed Pavlena? Would it change the story at all I wonder?

I'd really encourage anyone to get through a rough start and learning curve. It continues to be brilliant the more you get into it.

You'll know its your bed if it gives you the option to 'save and sleep'.

As for your question about Pavlena:

It shouldn't affect the main story, but there is a side quest associated with her which preemptively fails, if you haven't already done it. I have, so I killed both her and the old lady for the free real estate.

I've been running around doing side quests and errands and haven't even touched the wedding yet. The game has so much in it.

Thanks for the advice! So at the start of the game do I even have a bed?

So you’re telling me I can just murder them and steal their house?! Hmmm

There are some early side quests in the near vicinity of the start area that you can do which give you access to a bed.

You should have a bed in the old lady's house where you start the game. You probably slept in the wrong bed (which in KCD2 is a crime apparently on par with murder  ), so just double check for the 'sleep and save' prompt to make sure its the right one.

I'd also advise to purchase permanent lodgings in every inn you come across. You just speak to the innkeeper, select the 'longer than one night' option and you're offered a permanent room (or barn with some hay) for around a 100 groschens one off payment.

Or failing that just find some poor feckers home, murder everyone inside at night while they sleep and enjoy your new property and permanent bed where no one will bother you sleeping. Just make sure its no one important (vendors, or anyone that doesn't have a name outside the usual generic 'housewive', 'hired hand', 'farmer' etc - those folks are usually safe to 'dispose' of for your snoozing needs).

I just got back the horse for the game keeper. Think it's the 2nd whole quest I've finished with many partially done. Not going to Tomcat early makes the game very hard. I tried beating those bandits a lot of times without learning any swordfighting before giving up. After learning master strike it was no problem to 1v2 those guys.

I was also playing a bit with 20+ perk points available. Guess I'm too used to RPG games highlighting player information for me to think about them.

I've got a 4 day weekend coming up and all of my mates are busy so I guess I'm showing up Wednesday suddenly with a West Midlands accent.

This game is AMAZING! Feels like I'm a bit OP. Did pretty much everything I could before going to the wedding.

Tomcat is crucial. Once you get what you get for beating him, combat becomes a lot easier. I've been 5 vs 1 and beaten them easily. You just have to be careful not to be surrounded. I like how the AI will try to get around you in those situations to flank you. Makes combat more realistic and challenging.

I like the game but what's the fecking point in those encounters you get stopped from fast travel for early on? Every bandit just 1 hit kills me

Yep. Arguably much more difficult than Elden Ring to get going in, because of how punishing it is. But once you grasp it, you do feel unstoppable.

Pretty much the same with KCD though. Although the combat mechanics remain iffy, but I guess the point is that putting yourself in 1v5 or more situations is supposed to be undoable or close to it.

Feck me some of these main story missions are hard. Game doesn't really give you a proper warning. Suddenly faced with taking on 8 well armed soldiers on my own with only 25% health.

Alwats makes me laugh how people in the game tell you that you fecking stink.
