Gaming Kingdom Come: Deliverance II | Please Spoiler

I played the first for a couple of hours. It was fun, but then I stole a bunch of stuff when nobody was around or even looking and the guards still pulled me up and arrested me.

Stopped playing after that.
Quick question, did you, by chance put an item of clothing on that you had stolen? I did and I was confronted with “why are you wearing my hat?”.

The game is a lot smarter this time round for this sort of toomfoolery.

Guards will occasionally do random searches and will spot stolen gear. But you can get perks to offset that, or better yet just sell the items to either a dodgy fence or someone out of town (again, perks will highlight which items will not be considered stolen in another town).

Good to know!

Nah it was all like valuables and stuff - not clothing.

Just a warning - don't use that selfie/camera mode when sneaking around. Henry shouts 'What a view!' or something to that effect which wakes everyone up

One of those games where you kinda wish you were still a child and had all the time in the world to binge play it  it's slow paced but you're drawn into it right away. Have to learn to not do the usual thing of exhausting every single dialogue option just for chatting sake as some options give you a negative rep reaction I've noticed.

Decided feck it and got the second game. It’s very slow paced but definitely intriguing. Runs great on my now pretty dated PC too.

As someone who has a very stop start ability to actually play games for any period these days though the save system is very annoying. I might just install the mod to save any time

I play on ps5 but you can just save and quit to menu and reload to save it. Bit annoying and pointless but yeah

Back from my holiday and can finally sit down and play a little. Can't fecking wait!

Its amazingly immersive but I'm sooooo bad at fighting.

Holy shit man. I had to turn off the game and have a deep think about what just happened. Ended up restarting from before interrogation so I could lie to Sir Otto and avoid the raid. The Agnes bit was just brutal. Few games make you watch and be a part of your own actions like this. Such a good game.

Am i silly for waiting for some rounds of potential patches or life improving mods before starting this (like being able to save whenever)?
That mod is already out.

It’s incredibly well optimised and bug free already, it it helps.

It’s never a bad idea to wait for a game to be cheaper and more patched to buy it obviously but this feels like a bit of an Elden Ring/BG3 situation where there’s so much hype and shit going on you kinda feel like you’re missing out by not taking part!

Ah great to hear re mod.
And yeah fair pt i missed the initial wave of excitement for those other two. Tried BG3 but just couldn't get into it after that hype had died down and had it refunded.

One of the problems with these types of games for me is the inventory management part of it IMO. Yes there's a chest you can load shit in, but once it's there I feel like I'll forget about it. Do I just sell everything and equip the best armor and weapons every time and keep that cycle up?

And what do I do with any hides or any of the miscellaneous items? Is it all goods to sell, or do I need it for crafting or smithing? Or just worry about collecting as per need and don't let it clog the inventory?

If anyone didn't know there are twitch drops happening for the game aswell as other free reward stuff through PROS. You can just do the twitch stuff by running it in the background and muted.

Same. Decided to get it and it’s fun but Christ the combat is a challenge to pick up. Seems to auto save at decent points in the story/during quests which is nice.

Got my arse kicked by three wolves on top of a hill somewhere.

If you haven't already, get that Tomcat chap in the Nomad camp to teach you the masterstrike ability. You need to beat him in a proper practice duel which might be difficult in the early game but honestly get it done as early as you possibly can. Its an insanely powerful move that's pretty easy to do - essentially a parry/riposte in one move. Looks delightfully brutal too.

Alchemy + archery is also a ridiculously strong combination. Craft plenty of lullaby poisons, coat your arrows with it, and then start firing them at enemies from a distance. It wounds them and makes them slow and allows you to pick them off one by one.

Another tip is make sure you find your dog as early as possible. He's an annoying mutt that you'll probably feel tempted to leave home later on, but in the early game he's incredibly useful, especially for fighting wolves - keeps them distracted while you can get in some free slashes on them.

Though like the previous game the combat only feels brutal in the early game. I'm in the second half of the campaign and I've basically become the medieval John Wick.

Started this yesterday. It obviously has a long learning curve. I love the charm of playing the retarded knight.

Just beat Tomcat after a couple of attempts. That masterstrike is great. Also found that if you save and exit, it's basically a free quick save.

Slowly getting into it. Where do I get a pouch? I tried to eat some meat and couldn't because I didn't have a pouch on.

i don't think you need a pouch to eat, only to make it a quick inventory action. You should just need to hold the action button down to eat something.

I tried eating some cooked meat and it was greyed out and said I needed a pouch? I can eat fruit etc.

You were probably trying to store it. You need to hold the same button to eat. Single press adds it to your pouch for quick access.

If you do need a pouch, you can usually loot them off bandits (or just buy/rob them from a tailor/trader).

What level were you when you beat Tomcat? He takes out so much of my health with the masterstrike that I can't get him.

Feel like I've played a ton and done literally nothing  so much roaming around the world and starting quests only to then do a different one. Got my dog back at least which is nice.

By far biggest annoyance for me is that I'm spending way too much time sorting through my inventory and being over encumbered.

I think a couple of levels up? I did the Semine cart quest and got some armour for when I faced him too. Once you figure him out he's not too hard. When he swings and you block, if his sword is on your left after the swing, hit him on the right. That worked for me.
